Flapper dresses, dapper suits, kiss curls, suspenders, pearls and bold red lipstick reigned in the 1920s. Today’s shoot comes from an incredibly talented team headed up by Stylist Trish Thomas of Essential Wedding Design. It’s full of elegance, classic beauty, simplicity and grace.
“I love classic beauty,” said Stylist Trish. “I really wanted to create a shoot that would capture this in its entirety. Weddings can sometimes be so overwhelming and have so much detail, I wanted this shoot to depict a bride who was captivating because of her simplicity.”
To develop the simple theme, Trish chose to use white throughout the shoot, to nurture the elements of purity, innocence and loveliness. “I chose an incredibly beautiful house embellished by old antique charm for the shoot,” said Trish. “The rooms were beautiful in white and ivory decor, especially the bedrooms. To incorporate the purity element, we utilised the beds, mirrors and white props like the stunning real pearls!”
Trish hopes this shoot will show brides that they can each be captivating in their own way. “Weddings are a celebration and depiction of each couple’s lives and love. I believe that when planning a wedding, staying true to yourselves is so important,” Trish said. “I want to see couples making choices that reflect their character and personality! Choosing the dress, jewellery, hairstyle, theme, venue and all the details in ways that reflect them, not what’s popular at the time.” Trish believes that if couples are able to do this, their big days will be so much more unique and beautiful because of their choices.
“People won’t remember the little details you spend countless concerns on,” she says. “But they will remember if you made your wedding a true representation of you! If your choices reflect you as a person and as a couple, you won’t regret them in the time that passes or wish you’d done something else.”
Congratulations to our amazing team, what a stunning shoot!
