I am thrilled to be finishing the week with this ah-mazing inspiration! This quirky, beautiful and bold wedding was held on New Years Eve 2011 in Brisbane.
Mike and Merryn’s relationship started when Mike moved into Merryn’s share house in 2004. Their flat mate status quickly bloomed over red wine, chatter and some good music. In 2008 they moved to London for 6 months, and have now been there for 3 years.
Mike describes the wedding proposal, “On our 7 year anniversary I surprised Merryn with a dinner at Kensington Roof Gardens. I had created a hand made book with each page illustrating a different reason why I love her so much…. the last few pages did all the hard work!”
Their fantiastic wedding was inspired by the 1960’s style as seen in the TV series ‘Mad Men.’
The bridesmaid’s gorgeous yellow dress was handmade by her mother and the bride’s gown is a custom Edmonton with off-the-shoulder neckline, sweetheart cut and tulle overlay on a skirt from Dolly Couture.
These amazing over-sized yellow balloons serve as a wonderful ceremony decoration and fantastic photo prop for the photographer to work with. Such an effective and fun addition!
How cute!!! The couple both painted their own likeness on this cake topper. What a great idea!!
I am in love with this wedding and it’s cute, pretty and funky style…. I want to live my life around this theme!!!
A huge congratulations to the lovely couple!
