So it was with camera and notepad in hand that I went to try out the newest and hottest thing in hair extensions… Amazing Hair Tape Extensions.

As you can see, my hair is fairly long, but years of heat styling have left it fine, frizzy and kinda limp looking. The main reason I decided to try Amazing Hair Extensions was to give my hair a bit more length, a bit more volume and as a result, give me more options of what I could do with it (boring tiny little bun aside.) The other reason I decided on this brand over another was that they’re made from 100% human hair – 70% European and 30% Mongolian. Meaning the extensions are far more likely to match and blend in naturally with my own hair.
Super-dooper quick and easy to apply (my full head took just over 30 minutes), Amazing Hair Extensions are also very gentle on your hair. There’s no melting, braiding, weaving or threading. Each strand is applied with a purpose designed double-sided tape that’s ultra thin and nearly transparent. When they’re applied by a talented professional like Yvonne of L’Yvonnes Hair + Body in Dural, they’re totally undetectable. Even cooler, once you pay for the initial application, the extensions are all yours and you can have them reapplied as many times as you like. (They’ll last up to 12 months, if you take care of them well.)
Y’vonne matched my hair perfectly, choosing both black and dark brown extensions, to ensure they blended seamlessly. During the application, one piece of the extension is placed underneath the selected strands, one is placed on top and then they are pressed together.
And the results? Spectacular. If I do say so myself…. I am in LOVE with my luscious, long new locks! My ponytail is at least four times thicker than it used to be. I love the extra length, volume and shine that comes with them too. They’re super silky and they stay that way, even after your professional blow dry wears off. Amazing Hair Extensions are suitable for girls with straight, wavy or curly hair (provided you curly girls are willing to straighten.) They work on short, medium and long hair and can be used to add either length or volume (or both, if you’re greedy like me.) They’re up to 20 inches long and come in 10 natural colours which can be mixed together to match your hair perfectly. They can be blow-dried, straightened and curled, just like normal hair. You’ll need to schedule a re-application every 6 weeks or so, as your hair grows.
