D A V I D & A M A N D A
F R O M T H E B R I D E …
The Meeting…
At work – it was my first day!
Love…
David says for him it was love at first sight, I knew it was love the first time I saw David dance (on a night out to see the band “Gang of Brothers”). The same band that played at our wedding.
The Proposal…
David proposed on the rooftop of the Moana Surfrider resort on Waikiki Beach during a Hawaiian Sunset. It was our 10 month “monthiversary”.
Wedding Style…
We wanted a a heartfelt, intimate wedding with just our closest friends and family. We wanted the theme to be rustic, vintage elegance with tones of Rose Gold, Dusty Pink, Lilac, Cream and Ivory. We wanted a traditional ceremony with a reception that embraced our cultural heritage, creating a southern Italian summer feel.
The Dress…
The dress just happened by chance with the help of Nicky Farina and her team at Fashions by Farina. It is from the Atelier Pronovias Collection with the inspiration of vintage glamour. Shoes by YSL and earrings by Samantha Wills.
Bridesmaids…
Our bridesmaid wore a Needle and Thread Grecian gown with Kurt Geiger shoes and Samantha Wills earrings. Our flower girls wore Vintage Lace Tutu dresses from Giselle Boutique.
Groom…
Suit by Mister Mister, shoes by Aquila, accessories by Tom Ford and YSL.
Groomsmen…
Suit by Mister Mister, shoes from Aquila cufflinks by Simon Carter. The pageboys wore Industrie Kids with accessories from Stellina Couture.
The Flowers…
Vintage, rustic and unstructured arrangements made from Peonies and David Austin roses. Amanda’s flowers were tones of Ivory, Creams and Greens and the other arrangements were vibrant tones of Dusty Pink and Lilac.
Decor…
We really wanted to get married in Southern Italy, but instead we tried to recreate the same feeling closer to home. We decorated the reception with vintage props and furniture scattered around the venue with an abundance of flowers, jars and candles. Thanks to Therese from the Grounds of Alexandria who made our vision a reality.
On the Menu…
We started the reception with an Antipasti grazing station, canapés and cocktails (Champagne, Senorita and Half Mandarin Swing) followed by a three course sit down meal of King Fish, Goats Curd Tart, Beef Tenderloin and Salmon.
The Cake…
Our Wedding Cake was a Strawberry Watermelon Cake from BlackStar Pastry and Doughnuts and Gelato from the Grounds of Alexandria.
Bomboniere…
Our bomboniere/name tags were a vintage jar filled with homemade jam made by the Grounds of Alexandria, the label was custom made with the message “Spread the Love”.
Wedding Photography…
Studio RL Photography was referred to us by a friend. They captured all the important moments and made the day look incredible.
Special Memories…
The whole day was incredible. I particularly remember seeing David’s face as I walked down the aisle and exchanging our vows, while David recalls seeing me walk down the aisle and our first dance.
Wedding Songs…
Our entire wedding soundtrack was put together by David – it was a fusion of 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.
We walked in to the reception to Coldplay – Sky Full Of Stars, our first dance was to Elvis – Cant Help Falling in Love With You and special dedication of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons – Can’t Take My Eyes Off You. We cut our cake to Stevie Wonder – My Cherie Amour.
