The Meeting…
Angus and I grew up in the same area and have many mutual friends. We were all out for drinks one night while one of our mutual friends was in town and we seemed to click that night. There was not one particular moment as things happened very quickly for us. From the beginning our relationship was very easy and we had a lot of fun together as Angus is a joker and made me laugh a lot. Also coming from different backgrounds and seeing Angus fit straight in with my family; in particular my father, was a big deal for me.
The Proposal…
Angus proposed to me during dinner at Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant at the London Hotel in LA. We were there with friends of ours and at one stage Angus wasn’t enjoying our topic of conversation. After asking us a number of times to change the subject, he pulled a ring out of his pocket asking if ‘this’ would change the conversation and then proceeded to propose. To say I was shocked is an understatement. Friends of ours captured the moment to reveal photos with my very ugly cry face on.
Wedding Style…
We both wanted the styling of the day to be simple and classic.
Ceremony Venue…
St Peter Chanel Church in Hunters Hill
Reception Venue…
Sergeants Mess
The Dress…
My gown was designed by Steven Khalil. I loved that it was classic with the lace detail, sleeves and long train yet still modern with the peplum detail.
Bridesmaid Dresses…
They each wore long pink gowns with an unstructured, soft peplum and each designed with a different top to suit them.
The Flowers…
Joanne’s Flowers in Ryde did the flowers for the day. I chose small bouquets of white David Austin roses for the bridesmaids and I had a small bouquet of pink David Austin roses.
Decorations…
We chose to decorate the reception with small bouquets of white, pink and purple lizianthus. Each table had small bouquets in different shaped vases along with a row across the front of the bridal table. We kept the reception simple given the beautiful room at Sergeants Mess. We also had a candy bar with a selection of classic lollies our guests.

Wedding favours…
In honour of Angus’ father who is no longer with us, we made a donation on behalf of our guests to the Melanoma Institute instead of a traditional wedding favour.
Special moments…
The boat ride from the Church to the reception with the bridal party was a great highlight for us. It was such a beautiful day and it was such a great way to get photos. The speeches were also a highlight, in particular from both of our parents and after our first dance we asked both my father and Angus’ mother to join us which was a special moment.
Wedding Photography…
We loved the candidness of SugarLove’s photos. They were so natural and captured so many great shots.
Wedding Soundtrack…
We had Cavan Te from Sticky Trio singing for us alongside a DJ so we had a great mixture of live music including R&B classics from Monica, Keith Sweat, Marvin Gaye to more modern songs and everything in between.
Honeymoon…
