Inspired by a rustic, natural look, Renee and Kevin’s wedding day was both stylish and elegant. Using a warm yet neutral colour palette, their stunning bouquets and floral details included classic roses, peonies and an abundance of foliage.
From the outset Renee wanted soft, classic flowers with rustic elements. She liked the “just picked” look so didn’t want the bouquets to be too tight or overly styled. Her flower girls wore little wristlets and her young niece wore a halo of Julia roses.
The reception venue was a blank canvas which allowed Renee and Kevin to really bring their floral vision to life. “The venue was surrounded by undulating hills, vineyards and the sea and we wanted to bring nature into the space,” says Renee. Suspended wreaths of greenery and neutral blooms hung from the ceiling which ensured an utterly unique and unforgettable decoration. It was all handmade which really enriched the organic aesthetic; the frames were constructed and entwined with peppercorn branches to make the wreaths – rustic, simple and so effective.
“Our flowers were the central part of the styling on the day,” says Renee. She carried a posy of Julia roses, white lisianthus and David Austin roses, the stems wrapped in a piece of handmade Maltese lace sent from her Mother’s cousin; a beautiful addition.
“Trust your own style ideas and preferences. Collect images that visually appeal to you and look for similarities. Be open to suggestions from others but stay true to what you love.” – Renee.
