The Proposal…
Anton and I have always gone skiing each winter at Perisher. This particular trip in July 2013, Anton surprised me by proposing to me while skiing. Everything was against him this day. There was a blizzard, the lifts on the mountain were shut down except for two and to make matters worse I didn’t want to get out of the car because the weather was so bad. Looking back now, I am glad I did! Anton stopped me half way down the mountain as we were skiing and helped me take off my skis and sat me down. I remember looking up at him as he was kneeling in front of me showing me my now gorgeous engagement ring. I was so surprised and excited that I was speechless forgetting that my face was completely covered by my ski gear that Anton had to pull off my ski googles and say “is that a yes?” I screamed “YES” and cried in excitement!
Wedding Style…
I always dreamed my wedding would have neutral tones with a Parisian feel. When we first came across Ottimo House I knew it was going to be the perfect setting for our reception because it had a Parisian feel. The reception had gold tones throughout, stunning chandeliers and artworks of churches around the world along the walls.
Ceremony Venue…
Our Lady of Victories Church in Horsley Park.
Reception Venue…
Ottimo House, Five Dock
The Dress…
My gown was custom made by Norma Bridal Couture. I went to her with an image of a sleek Parisian style dress with trickles of lace and she brought all my ideas to life. The dress was delicate with just the right amount of detail. My favourite part of my dress was the back.
Bridesmaid Dresses…
Pale pink dresses, with sequined detail on the bodice from Sheike.
Groom & Groomsmen…
Black suits from Ron Bennett.
The Flowers…
Because the wedding was in Spring, I wanted flowers that were crisp and bright, yet romantic looking. I always knew I wanted to incorporate orchids into my bouquet.
Wedding Decorations…
Because of the gold tones in the reception already, I wanted to play with those tones and make the room feel romantic. I had the bridal table covered in different height candles and filled the gaps with white flowers including dropping orchids. The guest table centrepieces were large crystal candelabras which matched the existing chandeliers in the reception room and the remaining tables had tall crystal vases with a mixture of white flowers.
Wedding Photography…
When you choose your photographer you want someone that you can be comfortable with because you are going to be with them all day. When we first met Nikky, we knew she was the photographer for us. She is easy going, yet confident in her job which made the both of us feel at ease because we knew she would be able to capture those natural photos.
Firstly, we love the location. It was outstanding. We told Nikky we wanted photos near the water but also somewhere that we could also get a unique background. She researched and found the perfect spot. Secondly, the photos were natural shots. The photos showed all the true happy moments of our special day which let us reminisce in that moment by just looking at the photo.
On the Menu…
Canapés and a 4 course sit down meal consisting of seafood, pasta, meats and dessert.
Wedding Favours…
We gave our guests small bottles of Rakija which is a Croatian brandy.
Special Moments…
Too many special moments, but my favourite moment was my first moment alone with my husband. Stepping into our car after church and sitting next to him and thinking to myself, we are now husband and wife.
Wedding Songs…
I walked into the church to This I Promise You by a live singer. We walked into the reception to Cinema by Benny Benassi. Our first dance was to One and Only by Adele and we left the reception to Come Home With Me by Guy Sebastian.
