High tea is fun, but high tea with vodka is better..!
Hens will love Food Society’s unique twist on traditional high tea which marries handmade savoury and sweet canape with single origin teas andĀ infused vodka iced tea cocktails. Located in Darlinghurst, this is the perfect place to start your hen’s festivities or spend the afternoon showering the bride to be.
We’re always on the look out for fresh new ways to celebrate a hen’s event, and while high tea has been a staple for some time, the addition of vodka really got out hearts racing! We took a little trip to see what Food Society’s ‘Vodka High Tea’ is all about…
Food Society really is a hidden gem, with a focus on gastronomic experiences and good old fashioned service. Step into the vintage style space which creates an intriguing yet relaxed atmosphere to enjoy some quality time with the girls, accommodating both small and larger groups.
Forget about boring egg sandwiches, Food Society’s award winning high tea menu presents the classics in new and innovative ways. Our personal favourites included the goat’s cheese tartlet – shortcrust pastry filled with goat’s cheese, pinenuts and mint, baked and topped with caramelised fennel and parsnip, and in the sweets department we couldn’t get enough of the Czech style honey cake – layered spiced honey cake, salted caramel cream, house made honeycomb and caramelised local pears. Choose from a selection of single origin teas, but the real highlight of this high tea experience is the infused vodka iced tea cocktails. The watermelon caiprioska is a must try, with melon vodka, zytnia premium rye vodka, fresh lime, realtea wild watermelon iced tea and watermelon ice cubes. It’s so good we recommend double parking yourself with two of these from the start!
