Elaine and Javin enjoy the simple things in life and love, but when it came to their big day, they celebrated in luxurious style.

We first met…
Javin & I used to lived in city around Chinatown area, we lived only two street numbers away from each other for a very long time but we never knew. I also saw him working at the Vodaphone store many times, but we never talked. Four years ago I went clubbing with girlfriends, Javin was there as well and we started talking. He said he also noticed me many times too.
We knew it was love…
I think love means is when you are happy to live an ordinary life with someone you love. Javin and I can spend entire day doing housework at home, cooking for each other or going out to try new cafes & restaurants. We want to spend our time with each other doing ordinary small things – daily things.
The proposal…
Javin proposed on the 25th May 2013 in front of Opera House. After a long day of moving houses I was extremely exhausted. Javin dragged me to dinner and planned a surprise proposal with friends holding red roses and balloon waiting for us.

From the outset, what kind of wedding did you want…
As a graphic designer and fashion stylist, I always dreamed of having an exquisite wedding that guest wouldn’t stop talking about filled with lovely and creative details.
Ceremony location…
Clarkes Point Reserve, Woolwich
Reception location…
Crystal Palace, Luna Park
Wedding Photography…
Our photographers were T-One Image. We love the artistic approach they have towards wedding photography, and love their creativity and professionalism. We had our Love Story video, wedding day photo & video all by T-One Image.
The bridal party…
We had six each which were great friends of ours in Sydney and from overseas.
They wore…
Bridesmaid dresses from White Runway and suits from Montagio custom tailoring.
The wedding dress…
My gown & veil were from Vera Wang, Sydney. I tried on many different gowns before Vera Wang but didn’t find the perfect one until my wedding planner took me to Vera Wang. She helped me pick my mermaid gown, and when moment I put it on, I almost cried, I knew I’d found the one!
Wedding flowers…
Something soft, feminine & elegant.
Reception decor…
The colour scheme for the wedding was dusty blue and gold. The theme was a bit vintage, but overall elegant with a bit of a geometric element. My wedding planner helped me elaborate on these ideas and develop a full styling plan which I loved so much.
My wedding planner designed a very unique hexagon bridal backdrop for my wedding, it is very special that no one else had in Sydney as we had the backdrop custom built. On the wedding day it was decorated with lovely floral arrangements and geometric lighting. We also had a ten 10 meter long large hanging flower structure over the bridal table, together with the hexagon backdrop structure, to make the bridal stage a wow factor of the entire room.
We also had a creative floor plan. In addition to the traditional round tables, we also had two big cross tables. All the table cloths were custom made for our wedding by my wedding planner and the gold colour is reflected in vases, glassware, brass candle sticks.
Bonbonniere…
The wedding bonbonniere were cute glasses we ordered from America with “Oh Happy Day” inscribed on it.
Wedding stationery…
I designed all the wedding stationery myself.
Memorable moments…
In the morning when my mum helped me get changed into the traditional Chinese gown. I couldn’t help but cry. My mum is my best friend and I missed her a lot when I studies overseas for many years. I also loved the moment I first walked into my reception room, the entire set up was beyond my expectations! I knew it was going to look great, but didn’t expect it to be so stunning! I hugged my wedding planner and cried many happy tears!
