A Wedding in Golden Light

Modern Wedding Posted: May 14, 2013

A N A  &  L U K E

You may remember Ana and Luke from the cover of our last Shots! magazine, but with the release of a brand new Shots! I thought it time to share all the gorgeous details on the blog, in case you missed it!

Ana and Luke were intent on creating a unique celebration for their wedding – inspired by family traditions and their own contemporary style. “We had 200 guests, which is actually quite small for a Croatian wedding!” exclaims Ana. It was important to both her and Luke that the day be fun-filled and enjoyable for all their guests. They chose a simple black and white colour scheme and planned the reception, held at Doltone House, Jones Bay Wharf, around dancing. “We arrived at the reception, had our toast, cut the cake and kicked off our first dance. The dance floor was then officially open!”

The ceremony was held in the chapel at Luke’s former school, St Joseph’s at Hunters Hill. Ana wore a mermaid style gown that emphasised her beautiful figure. “All the detail was in the texture of the gown,” she says. “I didn’t want any bling – it’s just not me.” Her five bridesmaids, both family members and friends, wore classic strapless dresses in black, complemented by white fur coats.

Ana counts the ceremony as the most memorable part of the entire day and night. “It was just perfect in every way. Seeing Luke’s face almost made me cry,” she says. Michael from MM Photos captured the celebration in a series of beautiful photographs. Looking through their wedding album, Ana and Luke are reminded of all their emotions on the day. “I can look at the photos and I know exactly what we were thinking about – it was so natural and he captured moments that we otherwise would have forgotten about,” says Ana.
