We live in a such a fast-paced world now, where days tick by faster than ever before, so I get an extra dose of ‘Yay’ when I open a beautiful invitation to a destination wedding! A great excuse to head out of town and forget ‘life’ for a while.
Many couples are choosing to look beyond their areas to get married, because their celebration can be celebrated that little bit more by their guests. Guests are taken away from their next-day to-do lists, there are no designated drivers needed (usually) and they are surrounded by a big group of friends and family all in holiday-mode together.
What a wonderful note to start a life together on.
One of my favourite wedding destinations is NSW’s stunning Hunter Valley region. It is only two hours north of Sydney, but it feels like you’re a million miles away. The whole area spells style and sophistication, guests can enjoy chocolate tasting and canapes overlooking the vineyards, or if they would prefer adventure, there is no shortage of what to do: Golf; organic day spas; hot-air ballooning; wine tasting; village fairs; jazz festivals; cycling or horse riding. I’m sure a tourist info bureau could add considerably to this list!
If you are considering hosting your wedding in this luxurious destination, you should definitely check out Hope Estate’s first annual Wedding Open Day. Have a look around the area whilst you are there – you will be swept away.
During your visit to Hope Estate, walk through their incredible Great Cask Hall (as featured on The Farmer Wants a Wife), sample from their menu, of course taste their beautiful wine and meet the local wedding suppliers. Hope Estate will have the venue set up for a wedding, so pack your imagination and imagine how it feels walking into the reception.
