With Summer just around the corner, my thoughts have turned to beach weddings. I have such a wonderfully summery, sun-saturated inspirational beach shoot to share with you today that I can practically feel the sand between my toes! Amy Oram of Teeki was the Shoot Director and Stylist. “With the sun shining and the warmer weather lifting our spirits, I was inspired to create a beach themed shoot. I always love to create shoots that showcase a different way to approach a theme and inspire brides to be unique and try a few different things on their big day.” And Amy has certainly done just that, creating three beautiful beach looks as part of her shoot, each of which is simply so beautiful that it deserves it’s own post and explantion.
Here is the first of three looks, Black & White Chic.
Of her inspiration for the romantic atmosphere of the shoot, Shoot Director & Stylist Amy Oram says “I wanted to completely encapsulate the feelings and emotions of love. I wanted to create an atmosphere where all that mattered was the bride and groom, what they felt for each other and that the day completely reflected their style. I wanted to create a mood that was very relaxed and there was very much a “barefoot bride” feeling to the shoot.”
Describing the elements that went into creating the Black & White Chic look, Amy says “This look is all about laid back elegance and style with some trendy flair. The “falling petal” bridal gown is by Australia’s Anna Campbell and is absolutely divine with fine lace details over the shoulder delicately beaded. This dress is ultra feminine and perfect for a beach wedding with a long, light and flowy train that is not too dramatic or hard to manage keeping with the relaxed beach theme but still having a very bridal feel. The large hand made black silk flower with beaded centre matches perfectly to the black and white theme and shows that you dont have to go with traditional white or ivory for your headpiece. It is a nice contrast to the white gown and still very elegant and not overpowering. The bouquet is made up of a combination of white phalaenopsis orchids, billy buttons, viburnum berries and peris. The soft flutters of the phalaenopsis combined with the bright pops of the billy buttons and draping peris create a beautifully elegant and soft look matching perfectly to the theme, dress and hair piece. The Samantha Wills earrings from her new bridal collection and Mezi bracelets polish off the look with sparkling elegance! The grooms black/white micro check suit jacket from Zanerobe matched back with black pants are a perfect match to the theme and compliment the brides look nicely. The jacket is very trend orientated but still is quite classic!”
