An encounter with a carefree bride enjoying her just married moments on a Bundeena beach inspired this shoot by Alison Hughes Weddings & Events.
Weddings in Bundeena are not only blessed with the stunning natural surrounds of Sydney’s Royal National Park and sparkling Pacific Ocean beaches. They also have access to talented local wedding suppliers. A combination of these factors makes a wedding in Bundeena all the more alluring. Alison Hughes, a local wedding planner stylist and florist, saw the ease of a Bundeena wedding in a gorgeous bride that she spotted on a sunny spring day.
“She was carefree and glowing with happiness. Her look was simplistic, bohemian and natural… She was a free spirit – the prefect Bundeena bride!” describes Alison.
Beautiful Bundeena Beach
The shoot was kept minimal and chic to capture the essence of the bohemian Bundeena bride to reflect the lo-fi attitude and stunning natural surrounds of the area.
Setting the Mood
The beachy bohemian meets vintage luxe shoot featured a colour palette of crisp whites, dusty pink, ocean blue and antique gold. A white arbour with a crystal drop chandelier, French provincial dressing table and antique velvet lounge from Inspire Love Wedding & Event Hire were the key styling elements that set the scene for the shoot.
Alison describes the bride that she created this look for as “a beach bride, with a free spirit, who adores nature, but also wants to feel like a princess on her big day.”
In Full Bloom
The hair and makeup was soft and feminine, using earthy tones and textures. The focus was to enhance the natural beauty of the bride to suit her surroundings. Louise from Louise Richmond Hair Design curled the hair to allow it to easily be styled in either a loose flowing up-do or a feminine textured pony.
The Wedding Cake
A three tier semi-naked sponge cake was topped with a small cluster of blooms. It was displayed on the vintage dresser that was styled with a soft lace runner, crystal vases and pillar candles.
Soft blooms with minimal foliage kept the flowers simple but beautiful and were the perfect adornment to the styling. Alison Hughes used predominantly David Austin roses accompanied with Jasmine and fine delicate leaves throughout.
Bundeena Bride Style
A variety of gorgeous gowns and flower girls dresses from Maria of Vellos Bridal & Evening Couture show how different dresses and styles work in this setting. She also supplied all veils, cuffs and accessories to perfectly finish the looks. Gowns featured full skirts, sleek cuts, glam beading and romantic lace. The bride is complimented with grooms dressed in dapper suits by Cathy of Formalwear 2 Suit U.
