Inspiration…
Paris Architecture, Winter Skye’s and that dress.
We were wed…
Paris – France. We played with the idea of eloping for a while, but wanted to be able to celebrate with our nearest & dearest. So we did both! We had a wedding that was held at my family property just outside of Daylesford a few days earlier, then jumped on a plane and did it again with just the two of us in the city were we met! It was completely romantic and perfect; we spent the day at all of the places that held special meaning to us grinning from ear to ear.
Before the wedding…
We spent the morning together strolling the streets collecting cheeses, bread, juice, fruit and of course Champagne. We grazed through the morning and sipped on Champagne for breakfast, I took a long bath and then continued to sip away throughout my hair and make-up… needless to say we were pretty relaxed by the time the ceremony rolled around.
The groom…
Angel wore a custom Oscar Hunt tuxedo, Movado watch I gave to him as a wedding gift and a pair of black patent leather Kenneth Cole dress shoes. He also wore my grandfathers 1950’s bow tie.
The gown…
A customized Christian Dior gown. I found it in San Francisco and it was love at first sight. The fit of the bodice, the swing of the skirt, the colour…It’s magic.
The flowers…
Des Flowers pour toi did both my bouquet and the boutonniere. We met with them the morning of and showed them the outfits and away they went. They chose flowers in a beautiful velvet red tone that matched the dress perfectly.
The day…
A city so full of history and poetic scenery as Paris really needs nothing more. We made our way around the city to places that had meaning to us; Pont neuf, Pont de l’Archeveche. The ceremony was at a restaurant that had a roof top terrace right under the Eiffel tower, we arranged the night before to have the whole venue to ourselves for that period of time. We celebrated with another bottle of champagne with our small crew and finished our day at what used to be our local eatery, Tin Tin’s Vietnamese. We thought it was quite comical sitting there in our DIOR and Dinner suit chowing down on Pho.
The food…
Whatever the city had to offer; Cheeses, Champagne, Fruits, Baguettes, Laudaurie Macaroons, Chocolate, Crepes…we finished the day at Tin Tin’s Vietnamese and continued the festivities into the following days at L’Agapé Michelin star restaurant.
Memorable moments…
Looking into each others eyes and saying those vows in the city were we met was so emotional for me… and dancing on a private roof top being dwarfed by the Eiffel tower was a bit spesh.
