The ‘Fine Art Flowers’ editorial shoot that was recently featured in the new edition of Modern Wedding Flowers magazine is a showcase of exquisite wedding floristry and styling. We are so excited to share this shoot extra from Gail MacDairmid, Editor of Modern Wedding Flowers Magazine!
Being editor of Modern Wedding Flowers magazine is my dream job since it enables me to indulge a life long interest in, and passion for, flowers. As an added bonus, I have the pleasure to work with many like-minded talented artisans including florists, stylists, designers and photographers. In each issue, I aim to present a broad range of floral ideas, styles and inspiration to satisfy every type of bride. When creating styled shoots for the magazine, we draw from a talented pool of people to create beautiful, inspiring stories for our readers. From the many images taken in such a shoot, it is often difficult to select the ones to feature in the magazine.
Deciding on the final selection for the story Fine Art Flowers was particularly difficult due to the outstanding photographs produced by photographer AmeliaSoegijono from Pictures and Hearts Photography. As an enthusiast of film photograpy, Amelia was convinced that the shoot would be even more beautiful if shot on film. Her vision and ability to see the potential for this medium when applied to this shoot produced stunning results. Even though we featured a large number of different photographs in the story, there were many more images that deserved publishing. For all those who purchased a copy, and for those who have not, here is a special treat for you, namely, the final cut images that didn’t make the magazine.
