Jennifer and Peter first met as next-door neighbours. A romantic Hunter Valley proposal set the scene for a wedding day filled with colour and charm.
Hunter Valley Wedding Romance
“We wanted to combine elements of a Hunter Valley vineyard and barrel room with the elegance of a formal wedding,” recalls Jennifer. “We both love bright colours, so when Peonies Boutique Weddings came up with the colour palette of bright raspberry tones, apricot hues and lots of greenery, it was simply perfect.”
The stylish couple wed in a heartfelt ceremony in Pepper’s Creek Chapel. The bride chose a beaded 1920s inspired gown, carrying a bouquet of fluffy blush peonies, apricot and raspberry David Austin’s paired with hypericum berries. “The ceremony was perfect,” says Jennifer. “There were lots of draping florals that made the sandstone look lovely. At one point Pete started crying and this made everyone in the audience start crying… It was such a special moment for both of us.”
Lavish and Luxe
After the I dos, they joined their guests at Pepper’s Creek Barrel Room for cocktails and canapés, followed by a lavish three course meal. “We worked with Peonies to decorate the barrel room and, once again, they came up with such great ideas,” reveals Jennifer. Soft apricot shades in the napkins and menus added warmth and colour, with bright floral arrangements balancing the white furniture and rustic charm of the location. Fairy lights and chandeliers hung from the timber ceiling, and plenty of candles ensured the atmosphere was ideal for romance. A ten-piece brass band had everyone on the dance floor, celebrating late into the night.
