Lisa and Brent’s magical Gold Coast garden wedding was an intimate affair that featured beautiful, personal touches from start to finish. With the loving support of their friends and family, their big day was a celebration of the love they share and the start of their journey through married life together.
Coastal Crush…
Lisa and Brent first laid eyes on each other while holidaying in Noosa when two friends played Cupid and introduced them. The pair quickly realised they were a match made in heaven and fell head over heels in love with each other. “Brent is the most caring, fun loving guy who really calms mum down because she is crazy,” says Victoria, Lisa’s daughter, who is no stranger to the Modern Wedding family! We fell in love with Victoria’s own luxurious coastal wedding in Noosa last year!
Pretty In Pink…
Lisa and Brent wanted to make sure they were surrounded by their nearest and dearest on the big day so they settled on an intimate Gold Coast garden wedding theme. Once the wedding theme was decided, the happy couple planned their colour scheme and chose a colour that is very close to their hearts. The colour scheme was made up of pretty pinks and pastels which had been chosen to reflect Lisa’s strength and bravery after having recently gone through chemotherapy due to a breast cancer diagnosis. This was super sentimental for the whole family and made the day even more special.
Family Ties…
Lisa asked her two beautiful daughters to be her bridesmaids on the big day. She gave them complete control of their bridal party wardrobes and let the girls wear their favourite dresses for the ceremony.
Floral Fun…
Brent looked totally dapper in an M.J. Bale suit jacket, button up shirt and pink bow tie that beautifully complemented Lisa’s stunningly vibrant dress. Lisa’s bridal outfit was a gorgeous floral printed dress from Review which perfectly suited their garden party themed wedding.
Picture Perfect…
The intimate garden ceremony took place in Teavine House on the Gold Coast. The venue is a breathtaking Queenslander style house that is surrounded with beautiful gardens. Lisa and Brent’s celebration of love in this stunning location was captured by Jackson Playne. “It was Jackson’s first time shooting a wedding and he did such an amazing job,” gushes Lisa.
Garden Party…
Lisa shares that her daughter, Victoria, was the mastermind behind the whole day with the help of Arctic Fox Weddings. The reception was brimming with heavenly pastel colours, flowers in fish bowls and two beautiful hanging arrangements from above. It was the perfect setting for the glorious feast that Lisa and Brent had in store for their friends and family. The guests enjoyed a delicious sit down meal before being treated to ‘Lisa and Brent’s garden party surprise’ which was a drool-worthy spread of high tea desserts.
Sweet Treats…
The newly wed’s delicious and monumental cake was created by There Must Be Cake. The pink drip cake was hugely sentimental to Lisa and her family because it symbolised her bravery and courage throughout her battle with breast cancer. “There Must Be Cake actually gifted me the cake in honour of my recent breast cancer chemo treatment, which was so lovely of them,” shares Lisa. To keep the sweet surprises rolling, Lisa and Brent gifted each of their guests with personalised vanilla candles by Custom Favours.
Hey Mr DJ…
The whole day was accompanied by the most romantic, swoon-worthy soundtrack. Lisa shares that their wedding playlist consisted of songs like ‘Marry You’ by Bruno Mars, ‘Can’t Help Falling In Love’ by Haley Reinhart and lots of songs from Vance Joy and Ed Sheeran.
To The Future And Beyond…
After spending a tropical, relaxing weekend away in Noosa for their honeymoon, the newlyweds have settled down into their new lives with one another and are looking forward to growing old together. Lisa and Brent shared that to them, marriage means a full commitment to each other in times of good and bad, through happiness and sadness. They advise other couples that at the end of the day, it’s all about sharing life’s journey together and we couldn’t agree more!
