Use Protection
The skin on your lips is very delicate (almost transparent, hence their rosy colour!) so it’s essential to treat them appropriately. Protect them from the elements by investing in a moisturising lip balm with an SPF of at least 15+ to guard against sun, wind and air conditioning.

A rosy tone for both lips and cheeks – can you say best of both worlds?
Don’t be a flake
Kiss dry lips goodbye with regular exfoliation. There are some awesome lip scrubs available, but for a DIY alternative slather your lips with lanolin, leave it to absorb for 30 minutes then use a mixture of bicarbonate soda and water to gently slough away dead skin. A baby toothbrush or wet washcloth can also help in this process.

Mint Condition
A well-moisturised pout is healthier, softer and plumper. Keep your kisser looking lush year-round with a great lip conditioner for a hit of moisture and dryness defence. Carry it with you everywhere, reapplying after eating, drinking, brushing your teeth and before hitting the hay each night.
Keep those lips conditioned with our favourites from Frank Bod.
The Natural
“When in doubt, go for a lipstick colour that your natural lip ‘throws’,” says celebrity makeup artist Dale Dorning. “Beige-pink, brown-pink or nude in a gloss that has reflect and colour will make leaner lips look fuller and still give a touch of colour.”
Forget 50 shades of grey, 50 shades of naturals and nudes, please!
Be An Illusionist
“Apply foundation that’s lighter than the area all over the lips, slightly above and below the lip line,” says Dorning. “Use a nude lip pencil and follow the natural shape of your lip, then plump up the corners only, as this will still look natural. Use light, feathery round motions on the outer corners of the top lip to create the illusion of fullness.” Finish with a high shine gloss or touch of highlighter in the centre of the mouth for a plumper, more luscious look.
