This week, we’re telling the story behind the story of Natalie & Matt’s beautiful wedding, as seen on A Current Affair on Monday night. Today, we have the pleasure of chatting with renowned bridal designer Wendy Makin, who generously donated her time to make Natalie’s wedding dress and Emily’s flowergirl dress.
1. Why did you want to get involved with Natalie’s Wedding?
We saw Natalie’s story and saw this as a way that we could use what we do to make a difference in someone’s life and fulfil a dream for them that may not otherwise be possible.
2. What influences did you have in the way that you approached the design of the gown for the day?
I wanted to give Natalie the gown of her dreams but also a gown that was going to be comfortable for her to wear.
3. What fabrics did you use?
Natalie’s gown was Blush dupion silk and French corded lace.
4. What was you hope for the big day?
We wanted Natalie to have the wedding she dreamed of and I think with Victoria Black’s incredible work we achieved that.
5. Did you have a favourite moment on the day?
Helping Natalie and the girls into their dresses. I felt very privileged to share such an intimate moment.
We were honoured and thrilled to be invited to the wedding to share Natalie and Matt’s magical day.
Thanks to Wendy Makin for her time, talents and generosity in making Natalie’s dream wedding come true.
