Many people regard their wedding day as the happiest day of their lives, after all it’s a celebration of you and your partner with the company of all the people you love. Happiness is exactly what this shoot photographed by Danielle Poff Photography evoked when we came across it. We loved the bright and rustic styling so much that we included some images in the ‘Boho Luxe’ feature of our winter Issue of Modern Wedding. With such gorgeous styling, we had to share the rest of the shoot.
Rustic styling can often conjure up images of muted colour schemes and undone décor. While this is a beautiful aesthetic, couples looking for more of a festive feel can be inspired by the use of vibrant pinks, giant balloons and polk-a-dots in this shoot that turned simple rustic into a perfect playful scene.
A painted beige brick building with lush vines entwined on the pillars was the perfect backdrop for this shoot. The stylists used weathered furniture as a blank canvas for bright details, which created a casual but vibrant vibe. Cheerful gold polka-dot table runners and gold cutlery were mixed with patterned plates and bold bouquets in pretty shades of pink. The stationery picked up the hues of the furnishings and topped off the table settings perfectly.
Bohemian elements were polished to keep the overall feel relaxed but refined. Blackboard signage was bordered by understated frames and small structured succulents were used as decorations and bomboniere. The delectable treats were decorations in themselves and included a naked cake topped with fresh pink flowers, gold cake pops and fruit tarts which popped against raw burlap cloth.
The fashion styling seamlessly carried the feel of the shoot into the attire of the bride and groom who looked every bit the festive couple. The bride wore a simple flowing ivory dress and was adorned with a delicate headpiece and the groom wore a mix-and-match 3-piece suit in the same rustic colour palette as the décor.
