Stylist Diane Khoury of Weddings by Diane Khoury created an enchanted indoor garden setting for the couple. Miramare Gardens was completely transformed into a dreamy floral paradise: the team from Vesna Grasso Floral Design working overnight to create the incredible floral designs. The venue simply shone. Replete with blossoming trees in soft pastel shades, a floral feature wall, dramatic floral ceiling canopy (complete with chandeliers) over the dance floor and a bridal table lavishly draped with pastel roses, tulips, creamy stock, soft green foliage and hot pink ranunculas, it was a magical setting for this special couple.
“When I met with Rema, she simply asked me to create a fairytale for her,” says Stylist Diane Khoury. “She said ‘I want you to help me create something wonderful.’ There was a lot of trust between us. She wanted something magical, something out-of-this-world. But she was fairly free with how that would come to life, and what it would actually look like. I knew that she loved flowers and colour, so I decided to create the ultimate fairytale garden for her.”
“We were inspired to create something that no-one had ever seen before,” says Vesna Grasso, Floral Designer and Floral Stylist. “We wanted to create a luxurious garden, something opulent and grand, but still romantic. We used flowers, crystal and colour – with some softness – to create a feeling of exquisite natural beauty. It had to feel natural, but still be something that you wouldn’t see in nature. Like something magical, or enchanted.”
The stylist chose luxurious dark linens for the tables, contrasting gold charger plates, gold Tiffany chairs and golden urns overflowing with blooms. Candlelight flickered from every table and votives swung from the blossom trees, adding warmth and romance, while overhead myriad crystal chandeliers sparkled, casting a captivating glow on the entire venue.
“It was an incredible experience to be able to create something so special, so amazing, and to have it be a complete surprise for the couple,” says Diane. “It really was a one-of-a-kind wedding for a one-of-a-kind couple. She had no idea what to expect when she walked into the room. It was amazing. They were utterly blown away.”
The sounds of a lone saxophonist notified guests that the couple were nearby, and as he played he was joined in the musical collaboration by Lebanese drummers and a flute. When the couple arrived, they were led into the venue by 20 Lebanese drummers.
During the night, guests were entertained by three entertainers, an international comedian, a six-piece band and English DJ. During the bridal waltz, fireworks set the room aglow: 25 canons were fired as the couple enjoyed their first dance as husband and wife. Guests danced late into the night in celebration.
