It was the film from C2 Video of Karine and Jason renewing their vows that originally caught our attention. The couple decided to renew their vows on their ten year anniversary. Lucky for us Karine happened to be a celebrant herself so we asked her to share a little about the decision to renew their vows and what was involved. Check out their sweet film below – wouldn’t it be fab to compare something like this to your original wedding film!
From experience, I believe the celebration of renewal of vows is as emotional as what you feel on your wedding day. My husband Jason and I have always had a close bond since meeting in 2002. As we have a lot in common, we knew that our relationship would only grow stronger as the years went on. The discussion of having a celebration on our ten year wedding anniversary started back in 2008 when I became a celebrant. We both decided to start the planning of our celebration in 2011 and were very excited to put everything together as a couple. We locked in some wonderful wedding suppliers who I have had the opportunity to work with at wedding ceremonies. Closer to the actual day, we both sat down and wrote our vows without each other knowing what we were going to say.
Renewing your vows can involve whatever wording you would like and just like a wedding ceremony, the renewal of vows ceremony can be structured in a similar way. It is a wonderful way to enjoy such a momentous occasion with family and friends and celebrate a milestone in your life together as husband and wife. You can incorporate your story so far and why renewing your vows is so important to you both… Some might choose to renew their vows to reconnect, whilst others might do it to celebrate their life with their children involved. For Jason and I, we chose to do it to have our continual bond grow stronger and to simply celebrate the fact that we love being married to each other. As a celebrant, I truly believe the ceremony on the day is such a significant part of the whole day that it should be commemorated.
Just like your wedding day, you might like to consider having some reputable suppliers there to capture the moment. We chose to hire Andrew from Passion8 Photography and Tim from C2 Video and cannot thank them enough for the wonderful job they did on the day. You will see from the video snippet edited by Marcus that there was lots of fun and laughter which made it so natural and enjoyable for us both.
