A bride will be front and centre for many events during her engagement, and a team of professional primpers won’t necessarily be on hand all the time. So it’s a good idea to have some pretty hairstyles that she can do on her own. Save this one to your bookmarks. It’s our gorgeous Nape Roll step-by-step!
S T E P 1.
Spray the hair lightly with Goldwell Hot Form. Set with hot rollers and allow to cool before removing. Brush the hair thoroughly to relax the curl.
S T E P 2.
Divide the hair into two sections, across the top of the head from ear to ear and
clip to hold.
S T E P 3.
Lightly backcomb the crown for volume.
S T E P 4.
Carefully smooth over the outer section of the hair with a brush. Lightly spray with Goldwell Regular Hold hair spray.
S T E P 5.
Gather the hair into a pony at the nape, using a band to hold.
S T E P 6.
Gently twist the front section back towards the pony and secure. Repeat the twist of the front section on the other side.
S T E P 7.
Secure the two front sections together with a small band to hold.
S T E P 8.
Clip the twisted sections away. Thoroughly comb the ponytail and place a small elastic band half way down the pony.
S T E P 9.
Drop the top section and backcomb well with a teasing brush. This will give padding to the shape.
S T E P 10.
Gather the hair together and roll towards the nape of the neck, tucking in the top section as you roll.
S T E P 11.
Pin onto the head to secure well. Massage the smooth hair in the centre over the teased hair to hide, tucking any loose ends as you go.
S T E P 12.
Smooth the outer section with a tail comb to complete, pinning well to secure.
S T E P 13.
Finish the front sections by opening up the twists and pinning them in place to hold. Complete with Goldwell Regular Hold hair spray.
