Super Stylist Sunday: Inspired by Love Events

Modern Wedding Posted: October 8, 2017

Inspired by Love Events

Inspired by Love Events is an event planning and styling company, providing all aspects of event planning, from styling and set up to planning your entire event. Creating beautiful events on the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Northern NSW.

We spoke to owner of Inspired by Love Events, Gemma Burrows.

Modern Wedding: Tell us a little bit about yourself

Gemma: My name is Gemma Burrows and my company is Inspired by Love Events. I love flowers and in particular big beautiful roses

Modern Wedding: How did you get started as a stylist?

Gemma: I started my business about 6 years ago when a friend asked me to style their wedding. I loved it! I’ve always had an eye for detail and I love creating beautiful events.

Modern Wedding: What colours and colour palette combinations do you love for next 12 months?

Gemma: How do I choose! I fall in love with different colour combinations weekly! I always love greens and whites and I’m a real sucker for blush but I also love brights! I’m loving Blush sage and copper/rose gold at the moment

Modern Wedding: What are your favourite new styling trends for 2017?

Gemma: I love a rustic style but adding softer edge to it with beautiful textiles and lots of flowers. Different backdrops other than your standard arbour (still love these too!) Table top pedestals overflowing with lush foliages and florals

Modern Wedding: What are your five favourite styling elements to work with right now and why?

Gemma: Flowers!! Roses in particular Grandiflora’s new rage in classics and my absolute favourite the “unforgettable” simply amazing! Charger plates they just really finish off the table setting. Copper – anything! Arbour, charger plates, lanterns etc. Beautiful textiles, silk chiffons and muslin. Blonde timbers

Modern Wedding: What are your top 3 tips for brides wanting to create unique wedding style?

Gemma: Keep it simple, pick something that suits your style as a couple, get a stylist!

Modern Wedding: If you were designing your own wedding, how would you style it?

Gemma:  Lots of greenery and blush toned roses. Hanging florals, beautiful timbers, blush toned textiles, and pops of gold or copper (undecided!) Simple and romantic.
