Today’s shoot comes to us from an incredibly creative team, who were inspired to design a wedding theme based on the recent Disney movie Tangled. We are absolutely enraptured with the intricate details, beautiful theming & event design, gorgeous hair & makeup and stunning photography.
Photographer Clarissa Lum of Clarzzique Photography tells us: “The story of Rapunzel brings back wonderful childhood memories for me. I clearly remember watching a old Rapunzel clay animation movie on repeat. It wasn’t until the release of the movie Tangled that I realised it was one fairytale that Disney had never recreated.” She found a kindred spirit in Floral & Event Designer Lina Bteddini of Chanele Rose Flowers. “About two months ago I contacted Lina with the idea of recreating the Tangled scenes in a photo shoot. It so happened that she shared the same passion for the movie and always wanted to do a shoot around that theme as well! We invited several other creative minds to participate in bringing this story to life.”
Lina of Chanele Rose Flowers & Styling said: “Since my daughter Chanele Rose was born several years ago we have been watching fairytales together. It has really come to the point where I’m honestly not too sure who enjoys them more! When the new Disney’s Tangled came out I jumped at the chance to take Chanele to watch it with me, and ever since then I decided I would really like to put together a photo shoot based on the fairytale.”
“Hessian, pearls and lace were one of the main component of the styling,” says Clarissa. The hair styling was inspired by the flowers braided into Rapunzel’s hair in the movie. The soft pink tent, adorned with doilies and beads represented the tower in which Rapunzel was trapped for most of her life. “There were so many ideas that came together for this shoot,” says Lina. “Particularly beautiful inspiration for flowergirls!”
We love this gorgeous idea for a flower girl – instead of a bouquet, why not create a gorgeous love heart, adorned with flowers? Oh! Soooo pretty! Imagine her walking down the aisle…
We return the the story just before Rapunzel turns eighteen and escapes from the tower into the real world. She meets a stranger named Flynn Ryder and it is hatred at first sight.
But eventually love blossoms between them, and it is so sweet.
One of my favourite scenes in the movie is the breath-taking sequence in the boat, where they are surrounded by the floating coloured lanterns that Rapunzel has sought out her entire life. Clarissa, Lina and the team re-imagined this scene during daylight hours, with the sunlight reflecting off the water and glinting in Rapunzel’s golden hair.
