The mystery of the forest and the reimagining of a classic sparked the creativity of this team, who created a dark, moody setting ideal for romance.
“The ghosts of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream hang heavily over this shoot,” says stylists Tim Dall and Jamie Warner of One Big Day Event Hire. “We were determined to create something whimsical, mystical and utterly romantic.”
Myth and magic – Fur throws, foraged fruit and moss, and vintage books all add to the intimate, cosy vibe of this whimsical winter wonderland.
The location was paramount, as the team had visualised an ancient, majestic tree as the focal point of the setup. Deep wine tones of burgundy and claret were perfectly paired with rich forest greens to create an opulent and otherworldly vibe.
Exotic calla lilies, Amaranthus, David Austin roses and twisted willow played a central role, with vintage gold and brass tones creating a sense of occasion and deeply decadent desserts adding to the dark fairytale ambience.
