Life can already be pretty stressful, and adding wedding pressure into that doesn’t help! When the planning becomes a little bit too much and you feel like you need a break, try these 12 ways to deal with wedding stress!
Calm Your Head…
Meditation is proven to reduce stress, lower anxiety and enhance self-awareness – all of which are very important elements when planning a wedding! If a meditation class isn’t for you (we get it!), you can try an app that guides you through the process. Calm, Headspace and The Mindfulness App are all good places to start!
Netflix And Chill…
Do you find that you are at a point of CONSTANTLY thinking about your wedding? It can happen! If that’s happening, it’s time to zone out. Get into a fluffy robe, cuddle up on the couch, grab a glass of wine and settle into your favourite Netflix show. Having that time to chill out and just enjoy something fun is crucial!
Bright And Sunny…
So you spend all day in an office, then go home and sit on your laptop planning your wedding…do you remember what the sun looks like? It’s SO easy to forget to go outside and enjoy the streaming beams from the sun. The burst of Vitamin D will help with your overall health and is a great way to have a little break.
Thank U, Next…
If you are feeling completely overwhelmed, then it might be time to take a step back and map things out. Writing a checklist can reorder your brain and help you feel much more organised. Simple, effective, and it means you can power through that list with ease.
It’s A Date…
Get out of your head and go on a date! A date could be with your partner, a gal pal or even yourself! Head to a coffee shop or out to dinner…the options are endless!
Endorphins Make You Happy…
“Exercise gives you endorphins, endorphins make you happy…”. Oh Elle Woods, thank you for teaching us such a valuable lesson. Endorphins DO make you happy, which is why it’s so important to exercise regularly. If you’re finding yourself to be extra stressed out from all that wedding planning, schedule some exercising into your day! A walk, a run, a trip to the gym…anything works!
Treat Yourself…
This one isn’t for everyone, but for many of us, skincare and pampering is ultra-relaxing! Grab your favourite face mask and give your skin a serious treatment. Not only will your skin thank you, but that self-care will make you feel like a new person!
Zzzzzzz…
Growing up, our parents always said sleep was important. Now, we totally get it! A good night’s sleep is absolutely crucial. Make sure you are getting a decent amount every night, and enjoy some time without your phone at least an hour before turning out the light! If you are feeling particularly stressed one day, take a nap! Your body will let you know when you need sleep…listen to it.
Take A Break…
Turn off your phone! It’s so easy to get addicted to your phone, and we are the first people to admit that we find it hard to go an hour without it. It’s so important to take time away for screens and reconnect with the world. Not only will this help you relieve some stress, but it’s great for your eyes and sleep patterns!
Bookworm…
Have a book that you’ve been wanting to read for ages but just can’t find the time? Well, make time! Taking a break from everyday life and wedding stress to read a good book is the perfect way to escape to another world. If you can, try and give yourself a little reading window every day!
Game Night…
Get the family together and have a games night! This is a great way to kick back, relax, and just have some fun! Our only suggestion…perhaps avoid Monopoly if you find yourself surrounded by some very competitive players!
Bake Off…
There are two perks for this one! For many people, baking or cooking can feel very therapeutic and can really calm you down. The bonus? There’s food to eat at the end of it! Still, don’t go too crazy and try to make something healthy and nutritious if you can!
Treat yourself with these beauty treatments!
