Australia’s largest flower and garden show is giving one lucky couple the chance to say ‘I do’ among thousands of flowers at the Carlton Gardens.
Love will be in full bloom at this year’s Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show, as the Show unveils its first-ever purpose-built wedding garden in the iconic Carlton Gardens and Royal Exhibition Building.
To mark the significance of the garden, the Show is launching a national “Get Married at #MelbFlowerShow” competition, inviting couples from across Australia to share their love story and tell organisers why they deserve to say “I do” at the beloved flower and garden show.
The winning pair will exchange vows before 50 guests and countless flowers in a bespoke ceremony designed and executed by some of the country’s most celebrated horticultural and creative talents. Valued at $48,000–$55,000, the prize includes custom garden styling, professional event planning, floral artistry and a full wedding experience that simply can’t be recreated elsewhere.
Couples can enter now to be in with a chance to host their nuptials during the show on Friday 27 March 2026.
Director of the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show, Trent Cornish,“The Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show has always been about celebrating beauty, creativity and the joy that gardens bring to our lives. A wedding brings all of that into one powerful moment, celebrating love, family and flowers all coming together in the most magical way.
“And of course, winning your wedding means you get all of that magic without the usual stress and price tag that can come with planning a big day,” he added. “It’s a chance to swap spreadsheets and seating charts for sweeping florals and a once-in-a-lifetime experience in Australia’s most beautiful garden.”
World-renowned garden designer, Jason Hodges, added: “Designing this Wedding Show Garden has been a real joy. We wanted to create a space that doesn’t just look beautiful, but truly feels special and layered with colour, fragrance and thoughtful design at every turn. It’s been imagined specifically for this one moment, so the couple who wins the competition will be the only people in the world to ever get married in this garden, which makes it incredibly meaningful.”
“The idea of someone winning their wedding and stepping into this garden for the first time really excites me; it’s like walking straight into a love story. Every pathway, every planting choice has been designed with that in mind, so they feel completely immersed in the occasion and surrounded by beauty from the second they arrive.”
