What is Wattle Park Chalet?
Built in 1928 by master craftsmen using materials salvaged from historic public buildings, the Chalet is listed on both the Heritage Victoria and National Trust Registers. The Chalet has operated continuously since it opened and is the only recorded café, dance hall, reception venue and conference venue dating from the 1920s that remains operational in its original form.
Today, The Wattle Park Chalet offers a range of space and facilities suitable for celebrations, events and functions, and is a perfect venue for your wedding and other celebrations.
It is surrounded by 137 acres of parkland managed by Parks Victoria that also have historical significance. The Lone Pine tree across from the Chalet is included on the National Trusts Significant Tree Register. Wattle Park and its Chalet are important local landmarks and attract more than 500,000 visitors annually. All in all a gorgeous setting for a unique wedding!
What spaces are available for weddings?
Wattle Park Chalet’s event spaces can cater to all your needs, from 40 guest family dinners to stunning 200 guest galas. We guarantee you will have wedding memories that will last forever. The Grand Hall can seat from 40 to 200 guests, with minimum spend options for smaller than 40 guests. Wedding receptions can also be held in the picturesque private garden. Wedding Ceremonies can also be held in the Chalet’s Grand Hall for free when couples book their garden wedding receptions. Do you offer wedding packages?
Wattle Park Chalet can assist with accommodation, florists, classic wedding cars, gelato carts, DJ’s, festoon lighting, fireworks, candy buffets, bands, photo booths, marquees and more! The team will guide you through your wedding journey to make preparations for your wedding reception as easy as possible. They can also work to your budget with our simple and easy wedding packages.

Do you offer on-site accommodation?
No, however Several accommodation options are available nearby, including Quest Mont Albert and Punt Hill Apartments. Wattle Park Chalet can assist with accommodation options.
Is Wattle Park Chalet easily accessed?
Wattle Park is a 24 hour accessible Park with over 150 Free parking spaces. Wattle Park is the beginning of the number 70 tram line that extends to the Melbourne Docklands, making your travel plans simple.
When can brides have their weddings at Wattle Park Chalet?
When we hold wedding receptions at the Chalet, it is yours to use for the whole day, from setup to reception. Our functions end 11pm Sunday to Thursday and until 1am on Friday and Saturday. Ask us about our wedding packages for menus, price list, minimum numbers and extension of times.
We can also work according to your budget and tastes when you visit our weddings manager.
