We first met…
Philip and I met at Language School when we were 13 years old, and from this day onwards we stayed in contact.
We knew it was love…
Philip: From the day I saw Natalia walking down the corridor into our Polish school class first day of language school.
Natalia: Once we made our relationship official it was just ‘love’
The proposal…
Philip flew us to Dubai. Our engagement story isn’t the most romantic as I was 100% convinced that Philip would ‘pop the question’ while we were having cocktails in the 7-star hotel Burj Al Arab. Once he bent down to get his wallet from my bag I thought he was asking me, but I was SO wrong. The next day we had dinner reservations at Pierchic which is a floating restaurant a kilometre into the ocean. Philip had to listen through my complaining and arguments that he hadn’t proposed to yet, and I was asking what was wrong with me and why he just didn’t want to marry me… We went to walk out of the restaurant and Philip got on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was the best and most awkward moment in my life. We went from two hours listening to me complaining about not being married to getting engaged by the end of the night haha!
Our dream wedding…
We wanted a colour theme of gold, pink & white and to create an ambience that was pure, romantic and classic. We wanted to create a floral forest with a touch of blush, pinks and classic white throughout the venue and our whole wedding.
Wedding Photography…
Bellos Photography understood our lifestyle and wedding theme we were trying to achieve. Our wedding photos capture the special moments throughout our whole night. Our photos represent the love we have for each other.
Ceremony venue…
Keysborough – Divine Mercy Shrine
Reception venue…
Maia – Docklands apart of the Atlantic Group
Pre-wedding parties…
We had an engagement party, and a polish tradition – the “poprawiny” which is an after party after the wedding. A family BBQ to keep the wedding celebrations to continue.
Bridal party….
Maid of Honor was the sister of bride and bridesmaids were the bride’s best friend from Poland and best friend from Melbourne. The best man was the brother of groom and the groomsmen were another brother of the groom and the groom’s best friend from Poland.
The bridesmaids wore…
Bridesmaid dresses and shoes were from Forever New.
The groomsmen wore…
Groomsmen wore suits and shoes from Vilstula in Poland.
The groom wore…
Hugo Boss suit & Shoes.
The dress…
My wedding dress was created by Cappellazzo Couture and was designed by Sonia herself. I have worked previously with Sonia, and we worked together throughout the whole designing process. Sonia is such an inspiration. She creates her gowns to her own material. Our inspiration was beautiful lace, strong shapes and an elegant fashion forward structure. I had complete trust in Sonia and her work, and it was the best thing to receive the most beautiful dress I had ever seen.
Wedding flowers…
My bouquet was inspired by my mother’s bouquet from her wedding day 30 years ago. I love the drop in the bouquet and the modern spin from many different styles of flowers used together. I had full trust in my florist and left it all to her.
Reception decor…
We worked with Centrepiece by Design and they were amazing to work it. We decided together what we were looking for in our floral centrepieces. Amazing white and pink florals and lots of greenery made the venue look like a romantic beautiful forest.
On the menu…
We had a three course sit-down meal with antipasto breads, dips and cheeses for all guests.
Alternating Entrée – Greek style lamb rib or prawn & scallops salad.
Alternating Main – Chicken Breast with roasted vegetables or steak with roasted vegetables serviced with roasted potatoes and fresh salad
Alternating Desert – chocolate tart with Carmel popcorn & Pavlova with fresh fruit
Wedding Cake- Red Velvet
Bonbonniere….
We offered alternating bonbonniere of a small gold bag of Polexpresso coffee beans and mini champagne bottles.
Memorable moments…
When we were announced ‘husband & wife’ in front of all our loved ones. Another memorable moment was seeing the reaction of our families at the venue and the centrepieces on the day and of course our own reactions once we entered the venue!
Wedding music…
A mix of old school and new songs from both Poland and Australia.
M A R R I E D L I F E
The honeymoon…
We decided to go to Hawaii as well as Europe next year for a few weeks.
The future…
Natalia: Continue with my modelling career in Melbourne and throughout Australia.
Philip: Establish an Occupational Health and Safety business.
In 40 years you hope to…
Still be in love with each other!
