Yesterday, we shared with you part one of Charlotte and Antonio’s stunning wedding celebrations. The couple’s global tour of romance didn’t stop there, with a second celebration in Ile de Re, a seaside island off the west coast of France
Take Two…
Charlotte had been dreaming of her wedding day since she was 11 years old. She has always dreamed ‘to get married at the ruins of a 12th Century Abbey, by the sea, in the middle of the fields, with our 65 closest friends and family.” Charlotte reveals.
The Secret Garden…
With the theme of ‘French secret garden’ in mind, the wedding ceremony in Ile de Re, differed in colour and style. A wash of pastel colours swept over the day with greens, pinks and blues creating a romantic look. To further create a combination of cultures, the ceremony was conducted in English, French and Spanish.
Pretty in Pink…
The couple were once again joined by their bridal parties, each with outfits paralleling the pastel theme. Each of Charlotte’s bridesmaids wore pastel blue full length gowns, whilst the groomsmen wore pale blue ties and salmon waistcoats, the look was made complete with top hats.
A Fairytale Finish…
The bride had always envisioned a regal french garden looking gown. Her dream was made a reality, walking down the aisle in a ballgown adorned with the most exquisite details including thousands of hand embroidered pink flowers. In keeping with his bride’s look, the groom wore a handsome grey morning suit with a pastel blue waistcoat and top hat.
A French Fantasy…
The couple held their reception in a transparent marquee, with the setting sun and sandstone surroundings as their backdrop. With this blank canvas they created a French fantasy that photos cannot do justice. The reception incorporated extravagant flower detail and delicate French decor. Fairy lights and scattered hanging greenery created a true garden effect with candelabras and birdcages displayed around the event.
Life Lessons…
As many couples find, there can be many learning curves during the wedding planning process. For Charlotte and Antonio, the biggest challenge was respecting the cultural differences between them and not getting caught up with what other people expected. Their advice for conquering these issues? “Make decisions together as much as possible. It’s all about compromise. Also take your time and have a longer engagement This means that your planning won’t be as time consuming.”
To The Future…
After a whirlwind wedding, the couple took some much needed time away traveling through beautiful Japan during cherry blossom season. Now settled back at home, the couple plan to grow their family and look forward to a wonderful life together.
