You may have seen this real wedding in the last edition of Shots! magazine, but given the gorgeous Autumn shades, it seems appropriate to share it again in case you missed it! Without the limitations of pages we’ve been able to include a few more details perfectly captured by Woodrow at Infinity Photography.
Here is Marina & Ferdi’s story …
“I met Ferdi on the beach and spent every single day of summer with him,” says Marina. Understandably, Marina and Ferdi wanted their wedding to reflect their meeting place. They chose to marry on the Elwood Pier, a perfect venue considering their desire to marry in a private outdoor setting. The day was glorious – clear blue sky and warm sunshine the ideal accompaniment to their stunning colour scheme of orange, blue and white.
Ferdi and his groomsmen looked particularly dapper in designer suits by Hugo Boss and Versace. Their shoes were a definite talking point – Ferdi wore blue suede while his groomsmen chose orange loafers. Marina wore a couture gown featuring delicate ivory lace on the bodice and skirt. The same lace was used to create her truly unforgettable gypsy-inspired headpiece. Her bridesmaids looked gorgeous in floor-length gowns, the deep hue of orange a brave yet fabulous choice.
Both Marina and Ferdi admit that the most memorable moment of the day was when they first saw each other at the ceremony. Woodrow from Infinity Photography captured the emotion of the entire day in a collection of beautiful photos. “We knew Woodrow would be perfect because we wanted a relaxed, candid and natural style of photography which is exactly what Infinity are known for,” says Ferdi.
Their reception was held at Stokehouse in St Kilda and was decorated simply yet evocatively – flowers in wooden crates and vintage peach cans created an organic, summery vibe. They even featured a crate of juicy peaches at the entrance to the restaurant in celebration of the season. Guests enjoyed a four-course a-la-carte meal and were gifted peach-shaped cookies with their names written in the icing.
Marina and Ferdi honeymooned in Miami and the Caribbean and have since returned to their home in Elwood.
