Modettes you can probably relate to my mood at the moment…I’m at that painful part of the wedding planning process where I’m dealing with the messy things like the guest list and seating plan. I find myself longing for the holiday after the big day… two weeks in Bali.
We chose to honeymoon in Bali for a few reasons. Compared to other destinations the travel time is small yet we still get to experience a different country and culture. If you know where to look, food, drink and spa treatments are cheap so we can eat and relax from dawn till dusk. The weather is warm, which is a pretty exciting prospect especially if you’re from no-summer-Sydney like me! The resorts are magnificent both in service and architecture and incomparable in price and value. It sounds pretty great right? So why didn’t I just get married over there so my holiday could start sooner? I’ve been wondering the same thing…
When our office began production on our Bali supplement (available with Modern Wedding magazine in March!) I went into daydream spins upon seeing all the beautiful images! A wedding in Bali really does look perfection.
Have you been thinking about a destination wedding? This week the beautiful Nikko Bali Resort and Spa announced some exciting development plans. The resort, located atop the cliffs at Nusa Dua enjoys a 180-degree view of the ocean and now you can enjoy that view from one of their new private villas. The private villas will each have a dining area, lounge area and private pool – perfect for you and your guests.
Seriously can you imagine getting ready on your wedding day in a bathroom like this…
Dressing with your bridesmaids in a space like this…
Relaxing around the pool with friends and family in the days before your wedding…
Currently the Nikko Bali Resort and Spa has a range of outdoor venues and a glass chapel to cater for weddings, but this year the resort plans to expand their facilities to include a ballroom with lounge area, open pavilion and large garden areas. The development is designed to take advantage of the breath-taking ocean views.
I think if I could go back to the beginning of my wedding planning I would definitely consider a destination wedding in Bali. What could be more fun than a holiday with your closest family and friends? The fact that Bali has spectacular venues and beyond luxury accommodation is an added bonus!
