If you want a sophisticated, elegant and stately wedding, then you might like to consider using orchids as a guiding theme. Orchids are beautiful, graceful flowers and they’re easy to work with. An orchid themed wedding gives you many options with regards to your décor since there are several shades of orchid (e.g. radiant orchid) and the flower exudes timeless beauty.
Catherine and Jimmy’s wedding was based on the white orchid and incorporated bunches of beautiful white orchids throughout their ceremony and reception. Similarly, since it was an orchid themed wedding, the bride’s bouquet, groom’s buttonhole, the centrepieces and décor were all made up of brilliant white orchid flowers.
The couple’s reception effortlessly carried the orchid theme. Their colour palette was quite neutral, with shades of frosty white, ivory, gold and hints of pale blue. The reception was decorated with luxurious details and included sophisticated glass and crystal elements. Candles placed throughout the venue created a romantic atmosphere.
The wedding cake was an understated white round cake with four tiers. As decoration, the cake was draped with edible white orchid flowers with gold detail. The cake was complemented by a spectacular dessert table, which fit in with the colour scheme. When arranging a dessert table, it’s important to make it visually attractive. Catherine and Jimmy’s sweet treats were beautifully presented and ranged from white chocolate cake-pops to ivory coloured tarts and their styling fit in with the overall orchid theme.
