A N T H O N Y & J A S M I N A
F R O M T H E B R I D E . . .
We first met…
We met coincidently after work at the front of Spice Market. It was a cheeky chat that slowly flourished into a friendship.
We knew it was love…
It was a slow and steady process. We grew on each other.
The proposal…
17th Jan 2015 At the Rialto over a beautiful lunch with a view. We were there celebrating Anthony’s birthday. He turned his birthday celebration into an even bigger celebration by popping the question. The ring was perfectly propped in amongst a nutella donut- Nutella is my all time favourite treat!
Our wedding dream…
I once had a dream of my wedding and vividly remember the ceremony being outdoors in a beautiful natural setting. My wedding inspiration was pulled from this dream and after visiting multiple venues the RACV Club Healesville fit perfectly. Upon visiting the venue, it immediately felt right for us both. I liked the idea of a traditional wedding with elements of old Hollywood glamour .
A red rose boquet, red lipstick and red bridesmaids dresses were always a must.
Venue…
RACV Club Healesville. Under the outdoor gazebo with a picturesque mountain backdrop.
Pre-wedding celebrations…
We did a casual dinner at our house a few nights before so that the bridal party and our parents could meet and mingle. Jasmina’s bridal party were all from interstate or overseas.
Wedding Photography…
Caitlin May Photography- I had been following her work for a while and loved her style.
The bridal party…
We had tree bridesmaids and three groomsmen. Jasmina’s two sisters were bridesmaids and the Maid of Honour was a dear friend who has always been there for her during good and bad times. The groomsmen were all close friends of Anthony.
The bridesmaids wore…
Long red gowns with fur shawls.
The groomsmen wore…
Black traditional styled suits. White Zachary custom made textured shirts. Anthony wore a bow tie whilst the groomsmen had slim ties. They al had suspenders.
The dress…
I chose to wear custom-made Aleem Yusuf Couture gown. It was specially designed and made for me to go with theme of our wedding inspired by the old Hollywood glam red-carpet look. Aleem really understood my needs and wants for my wedding dress and went that extra mile to make every detail perfect for me. It’s a backless, halter-neck with a plunging neckline, well fitted silhouette with a beautiful drape and train. The highlight of the dress is fully beaded bodice made of Sophie Hallette French lace that is hand woven on the original 150 year old looms in Caudry, France. I was pleased that the dress reflected my personality and enhanced my best features, at the same time was comfortable to wear.
Flowers…
Roses are my favourite flowers so we only used long stemmed roses in the boquets. I wanted them to look clean and simple. I had red and the bridesmaids had white roses.
Reception decor…
JCRC Events styled everything from the ceremony to the reception. Jacqui at JCRC made a beautiful fresh floral trails which ran down either end of the aisle and also across the front of the bridal table. Our guest seating plan was set on a ledge- 2 decadent gold frames surrounded by the floral trail.
We had two big floral urns at either side of our ceremony and reception.
Centrepieces were fresh flower arrangements in the centre of our round tables. We wanted to keep the centrepieces low so that guests could interact without blocking their views.
On the menu…
Finger food canapés and pre drinks followed by a sit down menu consisting of beef ragu Gnochi and Creamny pumpkin and ricotta ravoilo, the main was perfectly cooked Salmon and Steak with veggies. I can’t remember the intricate details sorry!
Bonbonniere…
Yes, I handmade little kraft love heart shapes and filled them with red mini heart chocolates.
Memorable moments…
Were there any particularly memorable moments of the day/night? We had one guy fall flat faced onto the dance floor during the throwing of the garter. The boys were a bit competitive.
Wedding night accommodation…
We had an after party for our interstate visitors at Crown which kicked on past midnight. It was a big day. Stayed the night at the hotel- Crown Towers.
Wedding music…
We had a live band. Something To Talk About and they were sensational.
Our songs were…
That’s Amore- Dean Martin an Italian classic. My husband is Italian and so this song had everybody on the dance floor.
Our first dance- Nothing’s gonna change my love for you.
Honeymoon…
Mexico, Cuba and Hawaii
The future…
To work hard together to fulfil our dreams.
