I love it when I come in on a Monday morning to an inbox filled with beautiful weddings.
Today I wanted to share with you the wedding of Jay and Jon. Jay took a sidestep from the long tradition of wearing white on her big day, even though she had always imagined herself as a white bride. Tears welled up in Jon’s eyes as he saw his beautiful bride coming down the aisle wearing a rich red gown.
It was a complete surprise for the entire congregation, except of course her best ladies.
She looks absolutely stunning! Have you ever thought of wearing a colour on your day?
The wedding was held at Pymble Uniting church followed by an afternoon tea at Swain Gardens in Lindfield. 70 of their guests joined them at the Waterview Restaurant at Berowra Waters for an intimate dinner reception.

“Having the ceremony conducted by my uncle (Rev Chris Walker) was really meaningful for us, and being able to look into each others eyes as we recited our vows by heart was really touching (as well as a big relief that we remembered it all!)
The gardens in which we had the cake and the photos were really beautiful and secluded and we were really happy with our choice of venue. The food at the Waterview Restaurant was delicious, and I still think about how good the pork belly was.
Our wedding dance was to “Heaven – Candlelight remix” and we choreographed it ourselves. Practicing the dance in the lead-up to the wedding was a really nice way to spend time together and our dance went off without a hitch.
Jon’s dad passed away while we were on our honeymoon, so our wedding was the last time that we saw him. It was really special for us to be able to spend that time with him and for him to have made a speech at our wedding.”
