Create your own Wedding Reception Space

Modern Wedding Posted: December 6, 2013

Why find a wedding venue when you can create one? With the help of a dedicated events team like Your Event Solution | YES  you can design a space that is perfected and refined to suit your event needs. We spoke with the Your Event Solution | YES team about a recent wedding in the Southern Highlands…

How did Your Event Solution | YES create a space for this wedding?

We constructed a reception marquee (20m x 30m) including a verandah with lounge and bar area (5m x 30m) to accommodate 170 guests seated. A dancehall marquee (10m x 9m) with clear walls and roof was erected nearby with 3m x 8m stage. We also provided furniture and equipment hire plus event support.

Tell us about the property…

The Southern Highlands property was surrounded by beautiful gardens and sweeping rural views. The marquee was positioned to take full advantage of the view, manicured lawns and the garden setting.

How did Your Event Solution | YES cater to the needs of this event?

We used a number of marquees and structures to create dedicated spaces: reception, lounge and bar, dance hall with band stage as well as catering facilities.

By designing the venue with various marquees, we were able to create dedicated spaces for dining, lounging and dancing; creating spaces that guests could enjoy throughout the evening. Having a separate dance marquee meant that music was confined to an area, allowing the reception marquee and lounge spaces to be more quiet areas for conversations.

Can you design and create a space according to a theme or style?

Yes! This reception marquee had a European feel featuring long banquet tables with timber bentwood chairs and a soft colour palette of neutral linens and vases of coral, cream and yellow roses. French doors from the reception marquee opened onto a verandah with a lounge and bar area, flowing onto the lawns with outdoor seating.
