From High School Sweethearts to the Sydney Opera House: Kenny & Kelly’s Wedding

Kenny and Kelly have been together since high school, thirteen years of milestones, shared adventures and plenty of nights spent hosting friends around the table. When it came to planning their wedding, there was one non-negotiable: it had to feel like the best dinner party they had ever thrown.

The Sydney Opera House delivered exactly that. Unbelievable to their friends and family, the couple exchanged vows on the Northern Broadwalk, framed by glittering harbour views and the 2024 Vivid Sydney “Love is in the Air” drone show, before leading their guests inside to the Yallamundi Rooms.

Sitting within Australia’s most recognisable building, the Yallamundi Rooms balance intimacy with impact. Curved alcoves, floor-to-ceiling glass and a space that can be completely reimagined gave Kenny and Kelly the freedom to create something that felt both personal and elevated. Even the name itself, Yallamundi, meaning story telling in the local Gadigal language, represented the next chapter of their story.

Food and wine were always going to be central. The in-house caterer, Trippas White Group, helmed by two-hatted chef Danielle Alvarez, delivered menus defined by seasonal produce and unfussy elegance. Guests enjoyed plates that celebrated flavour and balance, with wines to match and service that kept the mood relaxed. Long tables dressed with florals by Ivy Floral & Co completed the picture, striking that sweet spot between refined and welcoming.

Music from Anva Strings set the early tone before DJ Dumplings picked things up and With Love MC Jess kept the evening going. A layered creation by Dulcet was sliced late into the night, though not before the dance floor filled.

Kelly designed a modern and elegant custom gown with Corston Couture, while Kenny alternated between a champagne Zegna suit and a sharp Hugo Boss tuxedo. Behind the lens, Akaness Sharks Photo and Jason Jia Photography captured everything from fleeting glances to the more unrestrained moments on the dance floor. Peggy Chen Makeup Studio ensured Kelly’s glow lasted right through.

For Kenny and Kelly, the Opera House was not just a backdrop. It was a stage for a wedding that reflected what they value most: good food, good wine and the people they love, gathered in a space that gave their story the setting it deserved.
