Tell us more about Couture Wedding Planning?
We are an award-winning luxury boutique wedding planning company based in Sydney’s North Shore. We love everything to do with weddings and really like to get to know our couples and then go on to design and create an exquisite wedding for them.
You mentioned you are award-winning, tell us more about this?
Over the past 5 years we have won the New South Wales Independent Wedding Consultant of the year through the Australian Bridal Industry Academy (ABIA), but this year we had the privilege of winning the Palazzo Versace ABIA National Designer of Dreams Award for Independent Wedding Consultant 2015 which was very exciting. We are also very excited about the upcoming Wedding and Events of Australia (WEOA) Awards and excited to see what their new Diamond Standards is all about.
When did you begin Couture Wedding Planning?
I started Couture Wedding Planning 6 years ago back in 2009. I have a degree in Hospitality and Event Management after receiving a Bachelor of Commerce from the Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School. After working in hotels for many years, I went back to university and completed my Masters in Accounting. While attending university, I worked in a bridal boutique and fell in love with everything to do with weddings, so once I completed my masters I started my own wedding planning business as I felt I had a lot of knowledge and organisation skills that brides and grooms would benefit from.
Tell us more about the packages that you offer your brides and grooms?
We offer 3 packages to our darling couples:
The Haute Couture is a very exclusive package available to 3 lucky couples each year. We limit this package to a small number of couples so we can provide them with an exclusive and detailed service. Be part of this exclusive society and allow Couture Wedding Planning to create a beautiful wedding for you and your fiancé from concept to completion. Our Haute Couture couples will be provided with an Ipad so they can connect with their personal wedding planner and create mood boards and store all their documentation.
The Demi Couture package is perfect for couples who have organised their wedding venue and a few other suppliers so far but not sure what to do next and need help with organising the rest of the wedding and with tying all their ideas together.
The Couture Coordination package is perfect for a Bride and Groom who would like to plan their own wedding but would love to have a professional wedding planner there on their wedding day to ensure that all the intricate details are in place and their day is seamless.
What are your 3 tips for brides today?
Firstly, make sure you begin a rough timeline from the beginning of your planning – begin by adding the start time of the ceremony and reception and then as you go through the wedding planning process just add the information as you receive it from your supplier, such as make up artist’s start time, when the cars will arrive and when your florist will be setting up for the ceremony and reception. Then when you get to the wedding, you can just send this document to your suppliers to confirm you are all on the same page.
Secondly, start a basic budget, begin with some approximate costings and then add in the actual costs as you receive the quotes from your suppliers. Once you lock them in, add in the deposit you have paid and how much and when final payment is due so you don’t have to go back through all the invoices and contracts again. The Modern Wedding website has very helpful Wedding Planning Tools including a budget Manager for the bride that wants to plan their own wedding.
Thirdly, create a mood board either on Pinterest or just add your favourite images to a Word document – this way you can take this document or present your pinterest board to your supplier, such as your florist etc. to show them the direction and colours you would like to incorporate into your wedding.
