Jacqueline and Scott met back in 1993 and after many wonderful years together, decided it was time to tie the knot and become husband and wife! Hoping for a relaxed boho celebration, the couple said ‘I do’ surrounded by soft lighting, pale pink florals, and their loved ones!
Back In 1993…
The happy couple were introduced to each other in 1993 while on a night out. Soon after, they knew it was love when being apart became harder and harder. Scott was travelling overseas with friends and the duo missed each other more every day. Once he arrived home, they knew the next step was to move in together!
Second Times A Charm…
Despite saying ‘I do’ now, the couple almost made a trip up the aisle once before! “Scott asked me to marry him not long after we got together, but I had been married before and I just didn’t think it was the right time. Then in February 2020, after a life-changing journey, I decided to ask Scott to marry me. It was on the leap year, at a music festival on the top of Mount Panorama. I got my 2 closest friends and told them what I was up to. When it got dark under one of the decorated archways with all of our friends around and asked him if he would marry me. His response was “I think we’ve done this before” and then said “Yes!”
The Boho Vibe…
From the beginning, the couple had a wedding theme in mind that matched their personalities and relationship perfectly. “I wanted a relaxed boho style,” Jacqueline tells us. “The theme was rustic boho with pretty lace and pale pink flowers with loads of signs with love, always and forever and soft lighting. It was beautiful and very relaxed, so everyone was chilled and had a fabulous time!”
A Family Affair…
The bridal party was filled with family and close friends. Jacqueline was joined by two best friends and her two beautiful daughters. Scott was joined by his brother, son, and grandson! The bridesmaids wore delicate soft pink boho dresses of various lengths, with the sweetest florals in their hair to match. The groomsmen kept it casual with blue jeans and either a white or pink linen shirt, finished with a bold red or white rose. Adding in a further touch of family magic was when Jacqueline was walked down the aisle by her brother in law, who had the honour of giving her away.
I Put A Spell On You…
The bride certainly cast a spell over guests wearing a floor-length boho design from, you guessed it, Spell! The lace beauty featured bell sleeves, a stunning swirled pattern, and a small train for that bridal princess look. To complement the theme, the bride opted for loose curls and a shimmering headpiece. To bring a touch of sentiment to the final look, the bride held a gifted bouquet throughout the day. “It was a present that was sent to me that day by a good friend who couldn’t make the wedding. We just added some baby’s breath and ribbon and decided to use that last minute.”
Home Sweet Home…
The reception took place at Bishops Court Estate in Bathurst, a beautiful boutique hotel housed in a Victorian manor house. The canopy of grand trees was decorated with pink and white Christmas baubles to bring a touch of glimmer and complement the vibrant outdoor area. Tables were completed with jars decorated with ribbon and hessian material, with florals, candles, and painted pink and gold love signs adding the final touches of romance. To bring a final feeling of home, the couple scattered pillows and ornaments from their home around the venue.
Raise A Glass…
The couple decided that the main focus and theme of their wedding would be celebration. After 26 years together, there was plenty to raise a glass to! This meant the couple had two bars, one serving wine and beer and the other creating fabulous cocktails. The festivities were joined by delicious finger food such as smoked salmon bites and arancini balls.
The Magic Of Family…
There were so many magical moments on the day, but it’s safe to say that involving family was one of the best parts. Jacqueline shares “I really enjoyed getting ready with my best friends and my daughters…It was also great having our grandson be there and walk out of the wedding with us, along with photobombing all our photos. The whole event was everything that we had imagined and more”.
The Journey…
The life-changing journey that Jacqueline mentioned played a big role in this couple’s love story. Jacqueline’s transformation began in 2018 when on a trip back from Byron Bay with her family she decided her weight was holding her back and she had to do something about it. After seeing an ad for SuperFastDiet on TV, she signed up and hasn’t looked back since. After losing an absolutely incredible 38kg, her self-love and confidence in herself were rediscovered. Jacqueline prioritised doing things for herself that she had put off for so long, such as getting herself braces to show off that smile. “I’ve always put myself second with everything, and I thought ‘no, I deserve this’, so I got braces.” And of course, to top it all off, on February 29th, 2020, Jacqueline proposed to her long-time partner and soul mate and hasn’t looked back. Jacqueline is also a Super Coach now providing support and accountability to other women to help them reach their goals too!
Planning Problems…
Of course, this magical day happened in the dreaded year of Covid-19! “Covid-19 made planning the wedding very difficult” the couple shared. “There were so many restrictions and changes. We didn’t know what was going to be happening by the time our wedding date rolled around. We kind of just had to wing it and hope for the best! Which worked out to be the best day ever”. As the couple also recommend when it comes to planning your special day, “Don’t overthink it and get overly stressed. Everything will work out and fall into place”.
