What type of venue is Lure, Abell Point Marina?
Our venue is a function venue, custom designed to cater for the booming Whitsunday wedding industry and in keeping with our nautical surroundings. Located in the heart of Abell Point Marina, the stunning waterfront view from the expansive balcony is stunning both day and night. As the sun sets over the Whitsunday islands the twinkle of the yacht lights reflection of the moon on the water, make for the perfect reception location.
What spaces are available for weddings?
We have a number of ceremony space options within the marina precinct. For absolute waterfront overlooking the marina itself, we can accommodate a ceremony on our foreshore. For those who dream of sand between their toes, the Shingley Beach precinct is adjacent to the marina precinct and a leisurely stroll back to the reception venue. By the end of 2017 work will be complete on the Abell Point Parkway, a 2.5 hectare waterfront parkland facility within the marina precinct. The custom built wedding pavilion overlooking the turquoise waters of the Coral Sea will make the perfect ceremony location.
Once the vows are finalised Lure provides a stunning, contemporary reception venue. We can accommodate 230 cocktail style and 120 for a seated reception. With an expansive balcony and foreshore available for pre-reception drinks, as well as the Compass bar and dancefloor, Lure certainly has plenty of space for large scale weddings. Conversely, we regular accommodate small, intimate weddings with couples who wish to get married on the balcony and enjoy an intimate dinner with close friends inside the venue

Do you offer on-site accommodation?
Whilst we don’t have accommodation within the marina precinct, we have a range of quality accommodation options within walking distance of the venue and all are absolute waterfront. We can arrange special rates for our bridal parties and their guests at a range of accommodation options to suit every budget.
How do you get to Lure, Abell Point Marina?
The venue is located a short walk from the township of Airlie Beach along a stunning waterfront boardwalk. For the bridal party we can arrange arrival to the ceremony or reception via helicopter to one of our private helipads on the marina rockwall. Alternatively, arrival via luxury yacht is a popular option for many couples and we are more than happy arrange the perfect vessel for the ultimate ceremony arrival. For those arriving or departing the reception, we can arrange private transport back to accommodation houses through our transport networks.
