Martina and Jeremy effortlessly combined modern romance with bohemian vibes for a breathtaking ceremony by the sea. Despite the heavens opening up to pour rain on their romantic boho wedding, the couple had a beautiful ceremony that was absolutely picture-perfect!
Instant Spark…
As soon as Martina and Jeremy met, sparks were flying…at least for Martina they were! “Jeremy really stood out from the crowd and it didn’t take long for me to know he was the one,” shares Martina. “Although it may have taken a little longer for Jeremy to see our connection, it eventually became clear to him too!” However, Jeremy certainly made up for his slow start to their initial romance by organising the most breathtaking proposal…
Cake And Champagne…
On Martina’s birthday in 2019, Jeremy surprised his love with a seaplane ride around Sydney Harbour where they marvelled the most stunning views. Once they had landed, the couple walked to Rose Bay where Jeremy had enlisted some help to set up a swoon-worthy romantic picnic. “Once we got to Rose Bay, Jeremy gave me the most touching birthday present: a book about our love story together,” recalls Martina. On the very last page of the book, Jeremy had written, “Will you marry me?” The newly engaged couple celebrated their exciting news with an evening of cake and champagne!
Modern Romance…
From the outset, Martina and Jeremy had a clear vision for their nuptials. They wanted their big day to have a modern romantic vibe with bohemian elements and an awe-inspiring view of the sea. “We felt that the romantic bohemian wedding theme not only reflected our individual personalities but also our story as a couple,” says Martina.
Cool And Casual…
The wedding party was made up of two beautiful bridesmaids and two dapper groomsmen, although Martina and Jeremy had rather different styles of proposing to their wedding party. While Martina took her bride tribe out for a lovely meal and presented them with personalised gifts, Jeremy popped the question at the place he felt he bonded most with his groomsmen—the gym. The pair wanted the whole bridal party to channel a casual modern look, so Martina’s bridesmaids wore strapless blush coloured dresses. Jeremy’s groomsmen were dressed in white chinos and beige coloured jackets to complement Jeremy’s look of a beige, linen-blend suit.
Angel Bride…
Martina looked like an absolute angel in her custom Richard Cook gown. “While looking for wedding gowns, I was always drawn to sheath-fit dresses with an ethereal feel,” says Martina. So, her dress was designed using that inspiration while still maintaining a completely personalised look. Martina also channelled romantic, bohemian vibes with her whimsical bridal bouquet which featured light coloured flowers with touches of blush, beige and blue.
Rain Or Shine…
The couple said “I do” with the absolutely astonishing surroundings of the Bradley’s Head Amphitheatre overlooking the Sydney skyline. It was a ceremony venue that was so perfect, not even a stubborn drizzle of rain could spoil the celebrations! “We always dreamed of an outdoor summer ceremony so even though we had a Plan B for wet weather, we braved the rain and had a truly beautiful ceremony,” smiles Martina.
The Show Must Go On…
Martina and Jeremy didn’t let the weather rain on their parade and were able to capture the most stunning wedding photos! Their big day was photographed by Alex from Olguin Photography who wasn’t fazed by the pouring rain. “Nothing was too hard for Alex and he more than exceeded our expectations,” shares Martina. Plus, he was able to capture one of Martina’s favourite moments from the day—when she walked down the aisle towards her husband-to-be. “I will never forget Jeremy’s face, it was filled with emotion and happiness as he watched me walk towards him,” gushes Martina.
Seaside Styling…
After an unforgettable ceremony, the newlyweds moved their celebrations to Zest, a stunning waterfront venue in Point Piper. With such a stunning view of the sea, Martina and Jeremy had to make sure that their reception décor didn’t compete with the ocean views. “Our florist created a beautiful overhanging floral arrangement over the bridal table which was modern industrial in style,” says Martina. The stunning blooms were paired with overflowing silk table runners to create a romantic yet moody vibe. The décor boasted a combination of rose gold candles and delicate florals to create the perfect balance of modern chic and simplicity.
Sweet Simplicity…
Martina and Jeremy’s guests were treated to some delicious sweet treats over the course of the evening! Not only was there a stunning three-tiered wedding cake, Jeremy’s grandmother and aunty also made homemade limoncello for the guests to take home as wedding favours.
Dancing Shoes…
The newlyweds made it easy for their guests to get their groove on by providing everyone with dancing shoes! Martina and Jeremy were able to dance the night away with all of their nearest and dearest.
Next Chapter…
After the whirlwind of their romantic bohemian wedding, the newlyweds headed to Hawaii to celebrate their new lives as husband and wife and were able to reflect on their big day. “My advice to brides is to enjoy your day,” shares Martina. “Whatever hiccups arise on the day are secondary to marrying the love of your life”. The loved up couple put a spotlight on the importance of savouring every moment of your wedding day. “Before you know it, you’ll be looking back at photographs and videos wondering where the time has gone!” says Martina.
