This spectacular wedding reception is something out of a dream. With the ceremony out of the way the day before, Mavineet and Nithiya enjoyed a stress-free Sunday celebrating at Gandel Hall at the National Gallery Of Australia
Dressed Like A Queen…
After getting married at Old Parliament House, this wonderful couple chose to celebrate in the stunning Gandel Hall at the National Gallery of Australia. The bride wore a traditional champagne Indian Lehenga adorned in beads and incredible embroidery. “As soon as I laid eyes on it I knew I would be wearing it at our reception, not to mention it is so much fun to dance in!”, she reveals. Not letting his bride outdo him, the groom sported a rich blue suit with a vibrant pink tie.
Meant To Be…
The couple had already fallen in love with the venue after previously attending a friends wedding there. When it was Nithiya’s turn to choose her dream venue, she recalled, “there was absolutely no way we could go past Gandel Hall!” It was perfect for their large guest list, easily housing all 220 guests without compromising the size of the dance floor!
An Idyllic Setting…
The beautiful surroundings of the National Gallery of Australia gave the couple plenty of choice for their stunning wedding photos. “The beautiful surrounds of the NGA made for an amazing backdrop for our photo shoot, both before and during our reception. We didn’t get far past the James Turrell Skyspace because it was absolutely stunning!”
Fabulous Florals…
The hall was decorated with vibrant florals, which tied in perfectly with the stunning architecture of the room. In-keeping with this colourful look, the wedding cake featured a naked base with warm toned florals. The reception focussed on subtle greenery in contrast with orange, pink and red tones. Teal coloured chairs were also provided by the venue, to further heighten this fun and vibrant wedding palette.
A Helping Hand…
Upon arrival, guests were offered espresso martinis and mocktails to get the party started. Catering by The Big Group included an extensive meal inspired by “East meets West”. This ensured the combination of the Indian fusion the couple desired, all with a modern twist.
Stress Free…
The couple experienced a blissful and happy day, saying everything ran smoothly because of the amazing NGA staff. “From go to whoa, this was one of the most amazing nights for us that we will never forget.”
