Natalie & Wei-Lang’s Margaret River Wedding

Modern Wedding Posted: May 3, 2018

Given their mutual love of wine and the beauty of autumn in Margaret River, an elegant vineyard wedding was ideal for Natalie and Wei-Liang.

“We had envisioned an elegant garden ceremony followed by a black tie vineyard reception under the stars,” says Natalie. They chose two complementary colour palettes: blush, walnut, ivory and sage green for the morning ceremony, and navy, burgundy, gold, blush and rose gold for the evening celebration.

“Given it was a very intimate guest list who knew us and each other very well, I wanted the space to be full of little details,” reveals Natalie. “Things only our friends and family would appreciate.”

The globetrotting couple had shortlisted numerous venues all over the world, but eventually settled on Margaret River in Perth. “I worked with Miriam from Chic Rustique to visualise our ceremony and reception spaces,” she remembers. “She made everything I requested come to life, and it was stunning.”

The bride was radiant in an intricately hand-embellished silk tulle gown by Hermione de Paula. “I was looking for something exquisite, but that I would feel comfortable in,” Natalie explained. The couple wrote their own vows, marrying beneath a bespoke floral arbour in the gardens of Basildene Manor. They provided refreshments and lawn games for their guests to enjoy after the formalities.

The evening reception opened with champagne, canapés and an oyster bar, flowing into a lavish marquee celebration featuring navy and rose gold table linen, a 60-metre hanging floral installation embedded with festoon lights and plenty of love and laughter.
