Philosophie Share Their Wedding Day Cleanse

In preparing for your big day, it’s so important to take the pressure off of looking your best. It’s YOUR day and all that matters is that you feel your best and you have confidence radiating from the inside out. Sophie Jaffe from Philosophie shows the MW team how it’s done with this incredible wedding prep cleanse, including an exclusive three day reset guide!

Investing in yourself…

Your health is a journey, it’s not linear. You don’t need to start cleansing and detoxing because a major life event is coming up, but that’s not to say you can’t start investing in your health and nourishment now to begin a more abundant, vibrant lifestyle. The goal for getting a beautiful bridal glow should be about getting healthy and feeling nourished, rather than slimming down and losing the pounds. A wedding prep “cleanse” should empower you to create a healthy relationship to food without anxiety, and support you in the weeks leading up to your big day.

Wedding Prep Reset Tips:

  1. Prep your body the week before you cleanse by slowly easing off processed foods and added sugars. If you’re cutting out alcohol and caffeine, make a start on easing off them as well.
  2. Set intentions for your reset journey by writing them down and putting them up in a place you’ll see every day like your mirror or nightstand as a reminder.
  3. Make a plan. Schedule your day and create time for yourself to go shopping or clear out your fridge/pantry. Create a supportive rest routine that could look like starting each day with a 5-minute check-in and ensure you carve out time in your day for self-care.
  4. Make it your own and tap into your intuition. Everybody is unique and your cleanse journey may look completely different from someone else’s. Use this time to tap into your relationship with food and make it stronger.
  5. Add in variety and try different reset-friendly meals each day!
  6. Do your best to avoid processed foods and added sugar while you’re cleansing and resetting.
  7. Get support from loved ones and maybe even reset with your fiancé!
  8. Drink lots of water to support the cleansing process. Try chlorophyll water at least once a day to eliminate harmful bacteria from the body, hydrate + heal the skin, and boost your energy.

3 DAY RESET GUIDE

Here’s an example of a three-day cleanse journey that works with superfoods and whole, rich foods. No juices here! /

Day 1

Breakfast

Velvet Berry Smoothie Bowl

  • 1 handful of frozen cherries
  • 1 handful of frozen blueberries
  • ½  frozen banana
  • 1 tsp Berry Bliss Superfood + Protein Blend (optional)
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • 1 tbsp coconut butter
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • Dried rose petals
  • 1 cup almond milk

In a blender, add frozen berries, frozen banana, Berry Bliss Superfood + Protein Blend, almond butter, coconut butter, almond milk, and blend. Add mixture to a bowl and top of a sprinkling of chia seeds, dried rose petals, and enjoy!

Lunch

Shaved Fennel Salad

  • Fennel
  • Green apple (sliced)
  • Baby arugula
  • Red jalapeno (cubed)
  • Thyme (minced)
  • Lemon zest
  • Sea salt
  • Black pepper

Combine fennel, green apple, jalapeno, and thyme with the baby arugula. Toss with lemon zest, sea salt, and pepper to taste.

Dinner

Summer Squash Soup

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp Green Dream Superfood + Protein Blend (optional)
  • ½ onion (roughly chopped)
  • ½ carrot (sliced)
  • 1 celery stalk (sliced)
  • 1 zucchini (roughly chopped)
  • 1 or 2 cloves, garlic
  • 8 oz vegetable stock
  • Salt and pepper

In a medium saucepan, heat the oil. Add the onion, carrot, and celery and saute for a few minutes until translucent. Add the remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil, then simmer on low heat, covered, until zucchini is soft. In a blender, puree the soup in batches and then return the soup to the pan. Add salt, pepper, and spices if it is not yet to your perfect loving.

Day 2

Breakfast

Green Morning Smoothie

  • 8 oz almond or coconut milk
  • 1 tbsp Green Dream Superfood + Protein Blend (optional)
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • 1 tbsp coconut butter
  • 1 cup spinach
  • ½ frozen or fresh banana
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp honey
  • Ice

Combine all ingredients in a high power blender and blend until smooth. 

Lunch

Stuffed Peppers

  • 2 cups quinoa
  • 2 orange bell peppers
  • 1 cup black beans
  • 1 cup corn
  • 1 red pepper
  • Corn salsa
  • 1 tbsp Green Dream Superfood + Protein Blend (optional)
  • Sprinkle of ricotta cheese

Cut bell peppers in half and scoop out insides. Roast for 10 min at 400 degrees. While those are roasting, make quinoa and add black beans, corn and saute the red pepper. To the roasted red pepper, add the quinoa mix and sauteed red pepper. Finish by topping with corn salsa, a sprinkling of Green Dream, and ricotta cheese. 

Dinner

Spiralized Squash Noodles

  • Spiralized squash
  • ½ cup sprouted beans
  • 1 bag of organic spinach
  • 1 cup sun-dried tomatoes
  • ¼ tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp Green Dream Superfood + Protein Blend (optional)
  • 2 tbsp hemp seeds
  • 1 clove of garlic chopped
  • Salt and pepper

Cook spiralized squash in a pan for 3-4  minutes with 1 tbsp EVOO. Add chopped garlic, bean sprouts, spinach,  and Green Dream Superfood + Protein Blend then cook for another 3 minutes. Transfer to an individual serving bowl. Top with sun-dried tomatoes, a sprinkling of hemp seeds, and salt+pepper, also more Green Dream if desired!

Day 3

Breakfast

Cacao Magic Milkshake

  • 8 oz almond/coconut milk
  • 1 tbsp Cacao Magic Superfood + Protein Blend (optional)
  • 1 handful spinach
  • 1 tbsp coconut butter/oil
  • 1 frozen or fresh banana
  • 1 tbsp raw honey or Cacao Bee Honey
  • Sea salt
  • Ice

Combine all ingredients in a high power blender and blend until smooth. 

Lunch

Simple Kale Salad

  • 1 bunch of organic kale
  • 1 handful of organic blueberries
  • ¼ cup slivered almonds
  • Any spiralized veggies (we used spiralized zucchini)
  • ½ sliced apple
  • 1 tsp nutritional yeast
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • Juice of ½ a lemon
  • Sprinkle of Bee Pollen

Dinner

Carrot Cake Smoothie

  • ½ cup carrot juice
  • ½ cup almond milk
  • 1 T Green Dream Superfood + Protein Blend (opt)
  • ½ cup mixed nuts
  • 1 frozen banana or 3 dates (pitted)
  • ¼ tsp vanilla
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 tbsp almond butter or cashew butter
  • Ice

Combine all ingredients in a high power blender and blend until smooth.
