This year it’s all about striking jewel tones and soft, powdery pastels. One of my favourite colour palettes is purple. One part edgy high fashion and one part pure girly sweetness, it’s a perfect choice to vamp up your colour scheme. Whether you choose lavendar, eggplant, amythest, wine, pomegranate or plum, add some glamour to your wedding theme with a dash, a splash or a big sparkling dollop of this intruiging hue.
Beautiful with a classic palette of crisp white, as an accent to a contemporary monochromes or as a feature colour to completely surround you and your guests: Purple is unique, being made up of two completely opposing primary colours: cool blue and warm red.
It is representative of royalty and riches, and was a favourite of Cleopatra and generations of western royalty. Purple has a special place in nature, with flowers like lilac, lavendar and violet considered precious. Need some inspiration? Purple is thought to contribute to creativity and boost imagination and innovation. I simply adore purple — it’s both feminine and strong, both pretty and bold at the same time!
Looking to add a little decadence to your already regal colour palette? Why not include a touch of gorgeous gold or stunning silver? Metallics look incredible alongside purple!
