Amongst the garden greenery, Rebecca and Alexander shared their special day with family and friends. Their focus was on natural beauty and elegance, perfectly complemented by their stunning celebration at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Victoria.
High School Sweethearts…
Rebecca and Alex are true high school sweethearts, having crossed paths back in year 9. ‘We had both heard about one another prior to the event and when we met I thought to myself, ‘Wow he is really attractive and has incredible eyes!’’ the bride tells us. Their first exchange was at a party, where they exchanged phone numbers and well, the rest is history! The couple has been together ever since and has always felt their love was meant to be.
Hot Air Balloon Love…
Alex proposed to Rebecca in Cappadocia, Turkey in 2018 while on a hot air balloon flight. “There was a sign at ground level with two men holding the large sign at the back of a ute that read, “Will you marry me?”. I was confused as to who this was for and as I turned around there was Alex in tears holding this stunning ring that he had designed without me knowing anything. It was such a special and beautiful moment for us, we both had tears of joy.” the couple recall.
Gorgeous Garden Glamour…
The couple wanted an elegant black-tie event that focused on the natural beauty of the location. The ceremony took place at the Royal Botanical Gardens on the Princes Lawn where the pair could have the romantic celebration they had dreamed of. There was an ‘all-white’ colour scheme, with crisp florals and cascading greenery providing the ultimate backdrop. A white toned piano added a unique touch to the timeless decor, with florals trickling over the piece to bring the design together. Rebecca even walked down the aisle to a rendition of “A Thousand Years” played by their pianist.
Natural and Authentic Imagery…
The couple chose Jenna Fahey-White as their photographer as they had admired her work and the natural and authentic approach she took to photographing couples on their wedding day. “I absolutely loved her imagery from her social feed and how each photo looked natural and authentic rather than posed.” the bride tells us.
Burgundy Bridal…
The bride and groom were both supported by family and friends in their bridal party. The lovely bridesmaids wore burgundy gowns to complement the moody tones featured throughout the decor. Teamed with a high ponytail and soft pink bouquets, the ladies looked like an elegant dream! The groomsmen matched the dapper style of the groom, wearing classic black tuxedos to contrast perfectly with the groom’s white outfit.
Beauty Delivered from Barcelona…
Whilst travelling in Barcelona several years before her wedding, Rebecca fell in love with Pronovias wedding dresses when she strolled past one of their stores. When the wedding day finally arrived, the bride wore a Pronovias Atelier gown. A classic white design, the gown featured a figure-hugging mermaid cut made from a delicate silk crepe. A v-neckline and draped cowl neck back added the perfect detail, with silk covered buttons adding the finishing touch. The bride also had a custom-made white jumpsuit designed so that she could dance the night away at the reception! The design featured silk organza, grand ruffles and pearl buttons. The groom looked like a true prince charming next to his bride wearing a black and white ensemble.
Flirtatious Florals…
Florals were definitely a big feature of the day! Rebecca had two bouquets for her wedding; one for the ceremony and one for the reception. Her ceremony bouquet featured white orchids for a simple and classical look. Her second bouquet was light pink with white roses to match the warm styling of the reception.
Sophisticated Celebrations…
The couple celebrated their reception in the Atrium on Dog Flat Lawn in the Royal Botanical Gardens of Victoria. The room was delightfully styled with moodier tones and floods of florals. Colours focussed on shades of pink, red and burgundy, with the white and green elements of the ceremony playfully creating a backdrop. It was a cocktail style reception, with a private whisky bar, as well as cigars and personalised matches being offered to the guests. Wanting a truly unique experience, the couple created the idea of the ‘Pulitano Bar’, named after the newlyweds. Customised coasters and a bistro area created a fun and fabulous dining experience for all of their guests and allowed the couple to really showcase their personalities.
Favourite Moments…
This wedding was filled with so many magical moments. One of the highlights was when Rebecca’s 11-year-old sister sang an acapella version of ‘La vie en Rose’ during the ceremony. Carrying on the musical tradition, Rebecca also surprised Alex by playing a compilation of songs on the grand piano that was on display. And the fun didn’t stop there! Sparklers even shot up from the ground during the couples first dance! It’s no surprise that guests described their reception as a ‘big dance party’ filled with memories the couple will hold onto forever.
Honeymoon Happiness…
Alex and Rebecca were lucky enough to have travelled to several spots on their bucket list in early 2020! This included places like Russia, Finland, Hungary and Denmark! From here, they plan to continue living their dream and start a family of their own.
Wedding Wisdom…
Rebecca and Alex would like to remind all future couples to remember that a wedding is a celebration of love and to enjoy the special time as much as possible! “It goes by so fast, so be present and enjoy every moment of it” the couple shared. They also recommend that if you have the ability to outsource the planning of your wedding, then it is a great way to alleviate stress and avoid becoming overwhelmed.
