>Vintage Black & White

Modern Wedding Posted: February 9, 2011

>We have been inundated with gorgeous wedding images from couples, photographers and stylists lately, and I am loving the vintage vibe that is surrounding weddings right now. Everything old is new again it seems! From jewellery, to vintage gowns, and black and white photography, there’s a special sense of personality and uniqueness to this look that is both slick and modern, as well as elaborate and fanciful.

I’m loving details like fascinators and fedoras, handwritten invitations, homemade bomboniere, stylish themed transport and your Nanna’s pearls.

Top to Bottom, Left to Right: Divinity Photography & Video, Eye to Eye Photography, Photography on Hermitage, Wills Quills, gm photographics, XSiGHT Photography & Video, Natural Lights Photography.

I love how black and white photography really captures the emotion and beauty of a moment, perfect for your wedding day! And keeping the colour theme monochrome really makes for a stylish overall look. No matter how many quirky details you include.

Some of our favourite quirky products from the Modern Wedding Shop have a bit of a vintage vibe and fanciful feel.

Damask Print Tealight Holders, Vintage Black Fabric Parasol, Damask Print Personalised Mint Tins, Bourbon Street Streetlight Placecard Holders all available from Modern Wedding Shop.

Keep your hair and makeup natural and emphasize either a Bridgette Bardot-like liquid lined eye, or a Marilyn Monroe-style va-va-voom red lip.

What’s going to be your “something old”? What’s the quirky, fanciful element of your wedding? Post your comments or stop by Facebook and Twitter and say hi 🙂
