Vivian and Karl dreamed of a divine floral wedding by the sea…and that’s exactly what they got! The couple said “I do” surrounded by an oasis of romantic blooms and the dramatic backdrop of Rose Bay.
Showstopping Proposal…
For both Vivian and Karl, it was love at first sight when they met at their mutual friends’ housewarming party in 2010. After seven magical years of falling deeper in love, Karl pulled off a showstopping proposal that has us totally swooning! In 2017, Karl appeared on a Chinese singing show called ‘The Singer’ where he performed in front of 300 people. “Karl walked off the stage towards me while he was singing and said that I was the reason why he had entered the contest,” recalls Vivian. Then, Karl got down on one knee and asked Vivian to marry him during the live broadcast. So sweet!
Sea Breeze Celebration…
The couple immediately began planning the wedding of their dreams. “From the outset, I could clearly visualise the kind of wedding I wanted to have,” shares Vivian, “Our wedding vision was inspired by the idea of an absolutely divine floral wedding by the sea”. Vivian and Karl entrusted The Salt Studio with the task of capturing their magical day. “We loved the natural feel of their work and the way they took the most stunning photographs without making it feel like a photoshoot,” says Vivian.
Wedding Party Goals…
The wedding party consisted of three bridesmaids and three groomsmen. Vivian’s bridesmaids looked enchanting in soft pink gowns by Shona Joy while Karl’s groomsmen channeled super classic vibes in their dapper MJ Bale suits. Karl opted for a clean and crisp Tom Ford suit to achieve his timeless wedding day look.
Vision Of Elegance…
Vivian looked like an absolute vision in her stunning Alex Perry wedding gown. “I knew I wanted a wedding dress that had modern elements but also championed a traditional style so that I could still look back on it in years to come and love it just as much!” says Vivian. The gown featured a flattering V-neckline with bold cutouts at the waist and a split to add a slight sexy feel while still maintaining a glamorous and tasteful look. Vivian’s bridal outfit was completed with a heavenly bouquet of romantic blooms. The bridal bouquet featured large white roses that were complemented with bunches of magnolia, white bells, and eucalyptus to add structure to the posy. The look was completed with a bold golden crown and dazzling drop earrings to match.
Waterside Ceremony…
The ceremony took place at Zest Point Piper, a gorgeous venue in Sydney that overlooks stunning views of Rose Bay. Vivian shared that one of her favourite moments from the day was during the ceremony when her father walked her down the aisle. “I’m forever a daddy’s girl so I could hardly hold in my tears when I was walking down the aisle with my arm held firmly by my dad,” says Vivian. The pair tied the knot before preparing for an evening of dancing, drinks, and wedding cake with all of their guests.
A Classic Look…
Vivan and Karl’s vision of a divine floral wedding really came to life at their reception which also took place at Zest Point Piper. The space was adorned with radiant white, natural, and green florals with luxe gold touches. “We wanted everything about our wedding styling to feel elegant and classic,” says Vivian.
Onto The Next Dress…
At the reception, Vivian changed up her traditional bridal look and opted for an Inbal Dror gown that allowed her to move around with more ease. Vivian’s second gown combined nude, ivory, and silver hues with modern lace and hand-beading to create a totally dreamy look. “I was so in love with the two dresses so I just decided to wear both of them on the big day!” laughs Vivian.
The Gift Of Giving…
The newlyweds gifted all of their wedding guests with the sweetest bonbonnieres. The first wedding favour was a donation to the Starlight Children’s Foundation made by Vivian and Karl on behalf of their guests. The second bonbonniere was a sophisticated green marble place card with each guests’ name written in gold calligraphy to be used as unique coasters.
Cake Heaven…
On the big day, Vivian and Karl had a wedding cake that almost looked too pretty to eat! The delicious three-tiered creation featured a collection of beautiful florals to match the wedding theme as well as a smooth buttercream finish and delicate gold leaf detailing.
Tips And Tricks…
After their dreamy wedding, the newlyweds jetted off for a fairytale honeymoon in Abu Dhabi, Switzerland, and Germany. Now that they’ve had the wedding of their dreams, Vivian and Karl want to share some of the valuable lessons they’ve learned about wedding planning with future brides and grooms. “Since we didn’t have any experience when we started planning our wedding, we found the amount of information available to be overwhelming and didn’t quite know where to start,” says Vivian. The couple reflected on how sifting through all of their options was super time consuming as there was almost too much choice out there. “Using wedding platforms made the whole process so much easier and saved a lot of time as we narrowed down the choices of reputable vendors,” explains Vivian.
