So you’re heading to your first bridal appointment…yay! Feeling a little overwhelmed? Not sure what to expect? Don’t worry, that happens to a lot of brides! We are here to break down what you need to bring to your first bridal appointment so that you are completely prepared!
Pinspiration…
Whether you know exactly what gown you want to try on, or you just have a vague idea, it’s crucial to bring along some inspo! This will help your consultant finds designs that could be ‘the one’. This may be in the form of saved photos or screenshots, but we also highly recommend Pinterest! Any bride-to-be knows that Pinterest is one of the best ways to collect inspiration, so be sure to use it!
Smalls…
When trying on a wedding dress, you don’t want to have a black bra strap showing! Bring along some nude underwear and a strapless bra to make sure you are ready to try on any style!
For Your Cinderella Moment…
This isn’t a must, but it certainly does make the whole experience a lot of fun! Bringing along a pair of high heels means you can feel like you’ve got the whole bridal look going! If you’re a little bit shorter, this also means that the length of the sample dress won’t be too overwhelming.
Bride Tribe…
We absolutely encourage bringing along some family or friends to your bridal appointment….however, there’s a catch. It’s so easy to get swept up in the excitement invite a whole bunch of your friends, but we recommend you really think about it. Is it too many people? Will they be helpful? Will they be honest? You want people there that will help, not make it stressful!
Bits And Pieces…
Maybe you’re planning to wear your mum’s veil or a friend’s headpiece as your something borrowed. If there is something that needs to be factored into your wedding look, then make sure you bring it along! This will make the process of elimination a lot easier and you’ll immediately see if the dress and accessory match!
An Open Mind…
This one is very important! While it’s not a physical thing to bring along, it’s still crucial. If you go into your bridal appointment looking for one particular style, there’s a strong chance you’re going to be disappointed. Once you start trying on dresses, you might be surprised by what kind of style you like! Remember, even if you thought you wouldn’t like a certain type of dress, there’s no harm trying it on! So make sure you have an open mind and listen to your consultant. After all, they’re the expert!
And Finally…A Smile!…
We know that reminding you of this may sound a little silly, but it’s amazing how many brides forget to have fun because they are feeling stressed or overwhelmed! Just remember to enjoy the experience, and trust that the boutique staff and your bride tribe will have your back. It’s a truly magical experience – so treasure it!
